Sadly, it's not like that in the UK. With the current messed-up state of the country and an over-emphasis on human rights, the homeowner gets into trouble for definding their property, whilst the burglar gets to sue the homeowner for personal injury and..... loss of earnings!!

Golf is serious in Scotland, hence they rightful environment for the clubs is the bedroom. My ceilings here are nice and high so a full drive is possible without hindering my swing.

Here in queenstown nz my house doors are open 24/7 and friends and acquaintances just walk in and out at any time of day just like on neighbours.

I always lock the doors. I even have a lock to my bedroom that stays locked even when I'm out for 5 minutes. Here in the states, you need more than locks for sense of security nowadays. |

I lock the door at night before I go to bed, or the last time I enter the appartment - something that my parents taught me.
But I don't lock the door daytime, I grew up at the country.

I guess @masseur is the master of this thread . . . quite very evident here in the Discussion Forum . . . The saddest thing is, he don't have any duplicate . . .
On my part, I am the one who locks the doors and main gate of our house, using a remote sensored locking device that can be controlled some 30 meters away . .. That is done after my brief stay at esato, usually at 11-12 midnight ! Also, I am the one who opens it when I wake up at 2 am
