You have to get firmware upgrades from an authorised Sony Ericcson Service Centre. A Sony Centre is not the same thing - it's just a franchised shop (ATM) athough there is a rumour that will change at some point.
So, you need a proper SE service centre or a Carphone Warehouse service centre.

I think it's free.

Most SE places will do it for free if you have your warranty/guarantee with you. It should be valid for 1 year. They might take a charge if youy want it quicker than the favoured 5 days. |

Dude, you are going to have to do a bit of leg work here. Go to the shops. Call SonyEricsson and they will more than likely have all the info that you need. Many of the questions that you asked are only a phone call away. |
