k700i is very rock solid aside form the battery life..
but R2L firmware seems to correct this.
im a proud owner of a K700i

How much did it cost you guys to have that software upgrade - SE K700i - (R2L firmware), also, how much time does it consume to wait . . .  Many thanks  |

As per last inquiry, Semicon still has R2E.
Beware lang po. Meron kasi nagsasabi na ang R2L001 ay may problema.
May corrupted files daw. Inquire first kung later version ng R2L ang gagamitin for upgrading, just to be sure. Use the search, dahil may taga Esato from other countries who have reported the same.

@crackerjack - Thanks mate ! Do you think it's worth the trouble 'upgrading' the software from my present (which has full of bugs) I am seeing some posts that the problem with their fones becomes worst when they had the software upgraded, which is which - sandwich  Many thanks ! |

i still advise sa SESS coz semicon handles too much volume so sometimes they rush and do not have quality control anymore... and you have to wait longer... btw SESS is moving to Glorieta3... they will be open by monday |

The Webviewer 3.5 from Reqwireless that I installed in my phone used to work with Globe's free www.globe.com.ph APN and I used it for a week browsing every site on HTML and it was fast, I didn't even wait for the 10 day trial period to lapse and bought a registration key from pdatopsoft.com. Sad to say, when I tried connecting this morning it says "can't connect to server".
I then switched to the paid "internet.globe.com.ph " just to see if it was the webviewers fault but it worked with the paid APN. Seems Globe has also blocked the Webviewers way of accessing the free APN. MATINIK TALAGA. Anyway, Webviewer is a great product even though I can't use it for free now. Nice way to browse the web when you don't have access to your PC.

Yung first/early release ng R2L001 ang reported na may missing/corrupted files. But the later versions ay ok na. I tried upgrading mine sa Semicon, but when the technician said that the firmware they downloaded is giving an error message and he'd like to send it to Semicon (main), I said never mind. I got a hunch that the firmware they have is the one that's reported to be faulty. That was three weeks ago.
If your phone is not showing any of the reported bugs or it does but is tolerable, I suggest that you wait for the next release. It is not worth the headache, just to get the latest firmware and extend the battery life another day or two. I for one is satisfied with my K7's two day battery life. My T610 lasted for three days before it needs to charged.
But if your phone is showing one or more of the bugs and it is bothering you, I suggest that you go ahead and get it upgraded ASAP.
There is nothing worse than a paperweight that costs several thousands of pesos.

Just had mine upgraded in SESS SM north.. They wouldn't do the upgrade unless you have a reason or an excuse to do so. I said mine usually hanged so they did the upgrade. They're quite hesitant to do upgrades since it's free for warrantied phones or maybe they're just afraid they'd break it.
Main Menu speed is still the same. (slow)
Still can't zoom in pictures in gallery. bummer.. (stupid SE)
I haven't found any improvements as of the moment. |

@crackerjack - I guess it will be much prudent to bring my fone at SESS (Glorietta 3) ! Looks like they make practice of our SE K700i fones at Semicon (sub-branches ) ! Many thanks again - mate  ! |
