K700i & the DSS-25 |

Install drivers from K700i/support/applications/synchronization.
There are drivers called Sony Ericsson Sync Station 1.2.9.1b
This should make it work.
The problem you may have is that you have a DSS-20, I have a DSs-25?
Check with Sony Eric for compatibility if you havn't already.
Cheers

After all that faffing about, the drivers on the sony ericsson web site are THE WRONG ONES!!!
I found ones to work here: http://usb.driverfiles.net/page,show,1378,245,14,.html
The login is: Drivers2
pass: all
How stupid of them to remove the drivers from the official support pages.
Anyway.. I'm at the same situation as you now My phones has the '?' |

Fear not!
Leave your phone in the stand, I did and when I went back to it, it was connected.
I just checked it after restarting the computer and guess what it works!!!
cheers.

I have now got it working and I am impressed with the synchronisation, less so with the transfer speed. Good job it only has 40M as if you tried to transfer any more than that you would have to take a week off work! They should have put a removable card in the phone as per the Nokia 6600 (which is not as good I might add)
Anyway cheers to all that posted replies to my request - much appreciated.

Might be your USB connection? Will it work any faster on USB2? Anyway I see Sonyericcson web site sells it for £30. What's the cheapest place to get it from?

Nope, it wouldn't coz it's not the speed of the USB connection that is slow. It's the bluetooth connection
USB 1.1 = 12mbit/s
USB 2.0 = 480mbit/s
Bluetooth = 7xx kbit/s

Can you use the DSS-25 to charge the K700 as well? If so it would be perfect. Although I've been told the CSS-20 can be used to sync the mobile and used as a handsfree speaker as well? Is that right?

@mojo:
The DSS-25 can charge the phone. Just connect the charger at the underside of the DSS.
According to SE support page, the CSS-20 acts as a charger, sync-station and speakerphone accessory.
