Has it fixed the delay when answering a call?

marcus_129: my O2 branded K700i was updated sucessfully so the firmware is suitable for O2 branded phones if not others.
The "phone lock" bug is still present - when lock is set to automatic it prompts for the phone lock code at every power on rather than only when the SIM card is changed.
The screen brightness has been increased - the O2 default theme now looks much poorer as you can see horizontal blue "bars" rather than a graduated panel on the 'More' menu, etc.
The bug whereby the first call received after power up produces an "answer, reject, answer and continue" menu seems to have been fixed - I certainly haven't seen it since the upgrade.
My O2 branded phone never used to make a shutdown noise - it does now !
The upgrade removed my shortcuts, but no data was lost. They were easy enough to put back so that wasn't a problem.
I don't know if the battery meter has been fixed - I only charged last night so I'll see over the next few days.
And no, you can't use your own SMS ring tone

Why not ? The volume is altered by software translating your button presses to increase/decrease power to the earpiece.
Presumably there's just a D/A converter (which is software controlled) controling the voltage level to the LEDs.
They are both simple digital/analogue conversions. |

@All,
I just noticed that after approximately 5 mins, the BT connection to the headset is released. If this is true, then this will significantly help with the battery life. I will test this and report back. The call pickup with BT seems very fast and stable. Are we all ready to say Hallaluja(did I spell that right)?
Cheers fellow K700i'ers

daveyj,
Are you sure you got R2L? Marcus said there is no R2L for branded phone.

daveyj,
Thank for clarification.
My K700 (R2C001 -> R2E001) did not ask for phonelock code after power on. I also set it to automatic. |
