I locked pachy in my basement a long time ago. He eventually died from a force-fed overdose of chelsea buns, which ironically resemble an @ symbol....

Ahh, so that's why we all use @!
Like Whizzkidd (note no '@') I thought it was some kind of etiquette, or it was something to do with searching for posts with your name in it or something daft.
Now I know, I'll reduce the use of the @.
Thanks, @vlam!

It not disturbs me, if the members use it. Its up to all of us, to use it or not. Dont think its so important imho. I like it, cos if i wanna talk for more members in a post, its easier to separate the names.

@vlammetje - I do agree with you 100% here my friend, as to the basic norm of etiquette to be followed with that of the use of '@' when directly pertaining to a member here when replying , but let us not just forget that we are indeed in a 'FREE' world to do whatever it pleases us and for what we think is right and comfy to be acknowledged/adhered to on the other receiving end or party As I have said before . . . my way of adding '@' before every member's username when responding/replying/posting is a by virtue of showing a 'definitive' approach to the person I am addressing my message to . . . I have seen a lot of member's doing it at present and in the recent past, and honestly, it is with them that I got the idea of doing/making a reply/post in that manner ! I am not the first, and surely will not be that last with this thing/habit of doing I guess there is quite no problem doing it my friend, as I am seeing some 'MODERATORS' doing their replies in that attitude as well Though not as frequent as I am doing it, but for sure, no 'ONE' can stop me from doing my posts that way my friend - again, my apologies . . . Let us just keep it that way @vlammetje . |

well no.
I don't care what you say, but when you mention MY nick, i would be most grateful if you could just stick to my nickname. vlammetje without the @, not 'vlammetje, not 'vlammy', not 'marge', just Vlammetje.
alternatively you could just not talk about me at all

the english translation is Little Flame
pronounced sort of like Vlah-muh-tjuh where the a is short like in 'car' and both e's are 'silent' e's like the e in 'counter'
