here you go to do this :
- go to control panel open folder options sellect View tab scroll down
until you see (hidden files and folders ) , uncheck the box : hide extensions for known files types . then click apply then ok . that's it now you can see any file extension saved in your pc and you can rename it by right click on it then sellect rename then rename the extension without any space . hope this help you

no you can't rename aac to mp4
.aac is RAW AAC stream but .mp4 is AAC stream inside mp4 container.
Nokia play RAW aac file but K700 (or most hardware player (iPod for example) can't play raw aac file) if you have .aac you should use conversion tools that could pack raw aac stream inside mp4 container.
I recomend foobar2000 + mp4 plugin for this job.

i canīt??? wtf???
i just did that... Itunes converted abc.mp3 file to abc.m4a file - Itunes creates AAC file with .m4a extensions, but itīs AAC files anyway!
Then i just renamed it to abc.mp4 so that the k700 can read it. Itīs just that simple.

If you rename iTunes' .m4a to .mp4 it's fine. m4a is 100% mp4 format (Apple invent this extension for audio only mp4)
I mean you can't just rename .aac (which silly Nokia phone use) to .mp4
.aac is RAW aac stream without mpeg-4 container. |

Ah ok...you right about the raw aac thing...but i donīt think the mp4 music files do just fine We can get much more quality music in our k700 |

Just made the test...converting some of my mp3īs to mp4 i was able to have 53 minutes of good quality music in something like 20mb of memory
I, like many nowadays, have a proper mp3 player, so the fact k700 doesnīt have mem card doesntībother me a bit...
But...i dontīthink having 53 minutes of music, and still more 22mb of space for storing videos, images, games, etc, and plus a fm radio, all in the fantastic package and screen of the k700i, itīs bad at all, even for people that need the k700 as sole portable music player.

K700 can play AAC LC (low complexity profile) very well but cannot be set as ringtone (I think firmware update will fix this).

Did anyone notice that the recent version of K700 firmware allow to use AAC as ringtone.
I have K700 with 2AY004, the older version allow only mp3 for ringtone. |

Right,i only just started to use iTunes(downloaded it a few weeks ago),but im still fiddling around wiv the settings, best bitrates to use, etc(my preference ).
But i have noticed something about ppl saying u have to rename m4a to mp4 for it to play in k700,well i accidently forgot to do this and the result was it still plays, and next to the song it say 'aac' instead of 'mp4' in the playlist.
My k700 firmware is R2AY004.
PS,dont bitch at me if u already knew this,i'm an iTunes noob
If nobody wants it.. put it on eBay. |

the later firmwares incorporated support for the .m4a standard Itunes fileextension, while the older firmwares only supported (understood) the standard .mp4 fileextension. Its basically the same thing, just different fileextensions. |
