Here in Manila under SMART Communications - local network, International SMS sending cost around US$0.17 per sms sent!

In Perú TIM charges about $0.10 per sms, domestic or international, but lots of them are never delivered.

this makes me REALLY mad that they started doing this. it is because i have t-mobile and an option called "buddytime." buddytime gives me unlimited t-mobile to t-mobile calling (basically free calling unlimited anytime within the network) and unlimited text messaging. this was very important to me, because many of my friends and most of my family is in croatia. so i use about 1500 SMS's a month communicating with them.

when i signed up for the buddytime about 1.5 years ago, i SPECIFICALLY asked if it was just for international or domestic text messaging. i confirmed with three representatives and a supervisor that it was BOTH international and domestic.

now when i call about these new charges, they are trying to tell me that buddytime is only meant for domestic and that i will still have unlimited domestic SMS but will be paying $0.15/SMS for international ones.

this has my blood boiling.

@miss uk texts are very reliable to cingular customers in america from almost everywhere in Europe. I had an Orange prepaid card over the summer while I was traveling Europe that I used almost exclusively to text my friends back home.

I didn't check on the price of every text message. To be honest I just talked to a salesperson at a store and asked a bunch of questions regarding international calls, texts and taking the sim all over Europe. I bought what sounded like the most reasonable plan. I still have the sim, but I wouldn't know how to check all the charges that were on it and it has no money left on it.
