lets all just hope that SE make changes to the phone, so that it supports pro duo's, because remember it is still a good few months away so anything could happen, we'll just have to wait and see.

And if they dont..?

Would a 128mb limit put everyone off buying the phone ?

The P900 has a 128mb limit too, and it needs memory more than the S700 does (for apps, document storage etc) but people still love it all the same.. see what im getting at ?

@etaab, I'm sure we all see what you are getting at but the question is more one about the fact that the choice is not ours, the consumers, when there is no apparant reason for to continue with this limitation

If the choice was ours, we'd already have the perfect phone and there'd never need to be another..

I think the 128mb limit is the only disadvantage to the S700, and its not a major disadvantage at all.. but look at its closest competitor, the 7610 from Nokia, it also is a 1.3mp cameraphone, yet it only has a 65k colour screen..

Theres always a drawback in everything, i just see the 128mb limit as a smaller drawback than the S700's competitors have.

I don't think we'll ever have the perfect phone as we are always waiting for technology to improve, but that is not the case regarding this stupid limitation, and of course the perfect phone for me is not neccessarily the perfect phone for you.

i know what the perfect phone for me is, one thats free and also has unlimited free calls, lol

but seriously, masseur is right, why should SE products have this crazy limit on storage space, when everyone of Sonys new MS compatible products can use the complete MS and MS duo range?

i suppose we'll never know the answer?

I dont see at as stupid, maybe like said before SE has some legal issue with Sony that prevents them from allowing Pro sticks to be used in the current models..

If you want a Duo Pro capable phone, why not get a SE A5404 imported ?

djpowelly, you say you want MP3's ? well i listen to Mp3's on my PDA's, both of which have 256mb SD cards in them. Now the average Mp3 file i listen to is usually about 6mb in size, thats 21 Mp3's per 128mb, or 42 per 256mb, or 84 per 512mb..

I want to get a 512mb SD card for my PDA.. yet it still doesnt have enough storage for all the Mp3's id like to store, so an iPod is my, and your best bet !

Thats the SE A5404, available in Japan - which im sure SE will release a European verion over here. Basically its another 1.3mp camera phone from SE that supports Duo PRO sticks..
