I know that You know, hehe,...this is getting a bit complicated
(my explanation was basically meant for the other users)

Yes I would love too to have a phone-screen that was as good as the camera itself,..that would truly be very nice.

Luckily the phones seem to be getting more and more colors,..256 > 4096..> 65000+,..and now the Samsung with 260.000 colors.
So we're getting there.

I have the MCA-20 too,..and its a nice little gadget. Would of course work even better on a phone with higher resolution,...thats what I'm kinda looking forward to
T-68 in an improved version will come,..not really much doubt about that.

Another one with digicam,..is the panasonic GD with 65.000 colors,..I bet that looks ok

Will be able to test the Nokia 7650 soon,..so I'll get a pretty good look at just how good it will be with 4096 colors and digicam

@Jan

Great!

Looking forward to it..

The future's amazing, and unfortunately pretty expensive.. But somehow I think I'll stick to , even though I experience that they don't actually know how to treat great customers.

Guess I have to reconsider the p800 if there will be other T's, but that's mainly due to the size. But considering the 7650 - it would perhaps have been one kind of a phone, if I had not read articles were the 7650 and p800 are compared. It just makes the 7650 seem so lousy.

Well, well - Jan - I wont waste your time on this topic no more. Thanks for the info!

Regards...

Going back to the topic, i have heard that the lens has some kind of transparent plastic behind it to protect it. This may be true.

Hmmm i don't think that is that dumb, i mean protection is very important for a camera lense

I suppose there are 3 methods to protect the lens...

#1 Don't!
#2 Use an external cover (some lens cap) ... I think this would look shite myself, plus if you loose it ... bugger, unless its connected to the camera via a string ... in which case it would still look shite
#3 Internal cover in the lens (like on most digi cams). This is probably the solution SE went with, keep it closed unless you activate the camera via the menu's, then the cover opens. These things are quiet simple to make and are reliable, more so then the sliding keyboard of the 7650 ... (I went through the 7110 "experience"

I don't think that the 3rd option will be the one, because when i went to cebit i played around with the phone, but i don't recall any moving or mechanical particles.
All cameras tend to make a sound when the protection shuts or opens.

do not fret or worry guys. SE has a protection for the p800 lens cam, if not then maybe the lens is scratch proof. we'll all find out the truth when the cam really goes on sale where ever.

If don't release the mms upgread before mms is supported by uk vodafone, then they can kiss my arse good bye coz I'll never bye a phone

Did anyone that saw it at Cebit try rotating the bezel around the lense, maybe the moves a cover in to place, and what's that small slot off to one side, that could be the lever that moves a cover across the lense. I wouldn't think that would be silly enough to make a camera you couldn't cover the lense on.

HC > Hehe,..No, I never feel like its a vaste of time talking about cameraes,..I like them a lot And shoot a lot of pictures myself.
Could probably talk about it for hours, hehe

Fingers > I agree,..it should have some sort of protection,..although I'm not sure that it does.

BTW > When shooting a photo with P-800, it sounds like an old-style camera, hehe.

I'm trying to get hold of the P-800 and 7650 right now,..as I'm gonna test these two for a mobile magazine. And it would be great to have them both at the same time

I'll probably be getting the 7650 within the next couple of weeks,..unless its being delayed again

here in Dk people are talking about prices for the P-800 at approx US $650-750. But its only estimated prices,..they are not for real yet !
And the prices cant really be compared with other countries,..we have high taxes here

I just heard that the p800 will be released without any kind of protection of the vulnerable camera lens, but if you just buy the phone - there will be a lens-cap-upgrade aviabel from week 31..

does really care about their customers, so don't worry - they won't release the phone without a proper solution on the lens matter..

P.S. For you guys in Sweeden: This is something called sarcasm...
