Get a grip man. Dont take yourself so seriously. Where is your sence of humour?
You want an answer?
Two reasons for this problem. One is that there is a bad contact between the sim card and the sim card slot and the other is that there is probably a software/hardware fault in the phone and must be taken to a service center.

I have lost that together with the proper functioning of an 800 Euro costing mobile phone within 6 months of purchase.

Wow, that is amazing! How did you figure those two possibilities out?
Well.. duh.
As I already wrote, the first one is not the problem, read the thread to find out why not.
The second one cóuld be the case, as I had already concluded, but it doesn't have to be. It might be a faulty SIM, or something the network tries to do that causes an error in the phone.
You take it all very lightly (hey, it's broken, go to an SE center), but the fact that I am not the only one with this problem means that its worth taking a closer look at. For all we know, your P900/800 (if you happen to have one, and yes, the problem seems to appear in 800's too) might be next...
This doesn't seem to be 'just a broken P900', it appears to be more of a structural problem and thus it more or less concerns all P800/900 owners and that is why I ám taking this seriously.
And about my sense of humor, nothing wrong with it. I just don't see much fun in my expensive phone not working at random intervals.

I would expect more from SE as well for such amount of money invested on a mobile/pda device. I currently use a P800 and a P900 and yes I get annoyed when I get several errors displayed on the screen.

a friend of mine had this problem.
Replacing the SIM card resolved it.
If you clean your contacts (Both the sim and the phone's SIM contacts) and the problem still occurs, you should replace your SIM first. |

I'm testing with another SIMcard in my phone now. Also testing my own card in another phone at the same time. No crashes on either phone yet. The other phone is not a P900 though, so that might not exclude the simcard being a problem on all phones... |

I have contacted Vodafone GR and they inform me that in case there is a problem with your sim card they will change the sim card without changing your mobile number. Hope this one solves something in case you have trouble with your sim card. |

First of all, tnx for the effort!
I already contacted T-Mobile Netherlands. For 15 euro's they will replace my Sim-Card without losing my number. The Technical Service sais they don't know anything about the P800/900 having trouble with any of their simcards.
My P900 now holds an Orange simcard from a friend of mine, no errors since I put that one in. (about 6 hours ago)
My old S35 now has my own T-Mobile sim and it crashed (switched off all by itself) once now, but that phone wasn't entirely stable before it got replaced by my P900, so no final conclusion there.
It makes me wonder now, maybe my S35 was crashing so often before I replaced it by my P900 because of that sim... only why did it take 4 or more months for my P900 to start crashing then? |

To the people having the No Sim Card error, does this more often occur when the battery is empty? With my P900 this seems the case. Since I recharged my battery I've had no problems with the error. |

If i'm reading this correctly u have a nokia and have the same problem?
Is this a symbian-based nokia? If so, maybe its a symbian-related problem, which might explain why we also had some P800 owners with this problem... |
