Notice that they have left the YES / NO button concept. Too bad, I liked that. It saved one line in the display for information instead of button info.
too sad

I think this is Sony’s way to introduce SE named phones in to the US and stop the Nokia dominance and I hope it does. The more people I see using Nokia's, the more I hate Nokia, especially when people confuse my T68i for a Nokia! Argh! |

TDMA - Time Division Multiple Access
Just by reading the name you get a hinch of what it's about. You need high capacity, but little bandwith so you use timeslots. Each timeslot is represanting a mobile user.
FDMA - Frequency Division Multiple Access
In this case it's the frequency that's been used instead of the time for dividing the capacity.
Often both FDMA and TDMA are used for the GSM network. FDMA is used to separate uplink and downlink, and TDMA is used to separete each mobile user into the timeslots.
Now.. this was a very short version... could write a longer.. but don't think it would be so much easier to understand it anyhow

Did you mean CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access)? I have never heard of the term FDMA before, though what you said about it sounds like CDMA.
In the US they use TDMA, GSM (which is built on top of TDMA), PCS (also built on top of TDMA), and CDMA.
