McKinley> Are you sure? I must have missed something. As far as I know the Z1010 is only 900/1800 Mhz and UMTS.

Shinyspoon> The UMTS will work in Japan won't it?

-> amagab. Dont think it will, Ive asked SE about it and was told that it wouldnt, mind you, this is the same guy who told me that bluetooth is same as wifi!

Besides that, I think Japan works on CDMA or WCDMA which is different.. methinks..

Z1010 DOES WORK in Japan on Vodafone Japan's W-CDMA network! As long as your SIM card's network has agreement for roaming with Voda Japan, you should not have any problems. If you have a SIM-free Z1010, then you can stick in Voda Japan's USIM card and you can use it as well.

Nokia 6650 and 7600, as well as NEC c616 and Motorola A835@(all SIM-free) can be used and I know they can be used because my friends in Japan have done it.

Z1010, however, does not work on DoCoMo's FOMA (which is W-CDMA but currently awaiting upgrade to become 3GPP compliant) or AU's CDMA 2000 1X network or any of Japanese 2G PDC networks.

What is the camera on the Z1010 like, is it just a VGA one, if it then I'll get the S700 instead.

I don't know how the sellers 'day to day' is ment, but by asking a seller at another Telia shop, i was told 'day to day' means week 16 - In others words, that's when the phone will be available for people to buy it!

PS. And yes, the price is true (Around 3000 kr) with 12 months subscriptrion, and a monthly fee of 150 kr (Same as GSM network!!!)

In these 2 last weeks i have already seen 2 people with the Z1010 in the streets of Stockholm, Sweden. Is it released now or maby it's just som test people. Anyway i think that it's on its way out soon.

Yes it has VGA camera, 32 MB internal memory, weights 144g and has 72-voice polyphony ring tones.
The only reason to by this phone is if you will use 3G, since I think this is the best 3G phone that will be out there so far. If you don't need 3G there is no reason to by Z1010.

Well it isn't very heavy at all. But it is very thick and that makes it quite awful to hold even for a person with as large hands as me. And it is not so well planned. Everytime i tried to take a photo with the camera my fingers got in the way. would have been way smarter to put the camera in the upper part of the phone. Other than that it was like a overgrown z600.
