When a product is much cheaper then other similar products, there is usually a good reason for that. It can be a promotion, or a company trying to enter a new market and selling at a loss to make a name for itself, but usually it's just inferior quality. Besides, you can spend £40 on a headset you can/will only use at home, but if you later on will want a headset you can use everywhere, you will have to shell out for it as well...
Personally, I usually buy top-models (not neccesserily the most expensive, I am not a snob ), because I value quality and functionality above all else - you get what you pay for, so I am probably not the best person to ask...
