Thank you for sending the software - that was very quick.
I have tried it with my P800, and it is only able to move (not lift totally) standard (BS124389 part 3) office paperclips.
Is this because I have the wrong firmware?
Sweet - any chance of hacking the software for my P800???

Somehow I don't think you will "attract" a favourable reply !

I would also like the software to store lifted items on the memory card, rather than the back of the phone...

Oh c'mon... this superb feature has only just been discovered... the technology is still in it's infancy...
You would be limited in storing them on the memory card though... you do know that... since SE only allow us to use 128MS Duos at present... UNTIL THEY UPDATE THE SODDIN' FIRMWARE, you will get around 3-4 or on there at best... although I have made a DUO which incorporates a little dip switch, will allows you to store another 3-4 on the other side of the card... ingenious really, I wonder how no-one else thought of it

Think you will have to send that one back... because... I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, but the P900 can ONLY use 128MB duos, and so you will not be able to use the wonder card you are awaiting in the phone...
Therefore, you will have no way of using the Phones' magnet hardware and software to store the paperclips on the card, unfortunately... though may I suggest you buy more than one 128MB Duo and hang them from a key chain... this is a really useful tip i pass on the the selected few... just think how many paper clips you could carry around with you then!

Has anyone tried to pick up anything else? I'm currently trying to pull a car out of a ditch it rolled into. The lady who was driving (it would be wouldn't it?) is frantic, luckily for her I have my trusty (and newly magnetised) P900 with me. One quick flick of the wrist and I will have her car on the road again.

Scotty...
Thats all well and good, but you won't be able to store it in the memory card, you do realise that ... because... you can only use...!... well you know the rest, I think someone mentioned it earlier...
Everyone take note, Scottys supercharged magnetised telephony device may just make him the next superhero... keep an eye on the news tonight...

Personally I am fascinated to see how this new found technology will applicate itself to the issue of mobile phones as jewellry. I can't wait to get my new P900 so I can magnetically attach it to my belly button piercing jewellry and have the swankiest accessory in town ! Of course, this does mean I can also dispense with a carrying case, as my phone can now be stuck to my navel.
Alternatively, I could stick it to my ear piercings instead - pity the phone would be the wrong way around for making calls. Perhaps this could be addressed in a future firmware upgrade.
And I'd have to be careful if someone tried to steal it else they might rip my ear off, - you never know how strong these magnets can be ...
