Well, mine is surely faster. And its actually pretty obvious too :
Reason : The processor-power has been diverted towards menues, instead of constantly updating screen.
So there is an improvement in speed, and also the fact that when going into the sms-menu-part, you no longer have the "hour-glass" symbols,..it immidiatly goes to the menu..so theres clearly a "time-difference" here.

I dont hold the world record in fast sms-typing, but even I can write fast with eZi-text,..its a lot easier. But this of course all depends on what you like I like it !

CyberVisitor: I have no problem with the maximum volume of the ring tone. On my t68i (r2a014) there is a difference in volume between
3-6. Is anyone else having this problem? Maybe it depends on what melody or signal you choose.

jh67: This is confusing, some say there is no difference in speed whatsoever and some say both t9 (and not only because of eZi) and the menus are faster. But I hope you are right, I would really like my phone to be a bit faster. How long time does it take to do the upgrade?

And please tell us if you notice any difference in stand by. If the phone doesn't work as much, the battery should last longer, right?

fresj > The upgrade took approx 15-20 minutes,..just as any ordinary upgrade

I dont find it confusing at all
Basically we all say its faster. Even I can see that, and I'm not even a "fast typer", hehe.
But it also depends on which of the two systems you like,..I find the eZi much quicker, some will be irritated by the roll-down-menu.

Theres been improvements done in the sms-part,..and I dont mean the eZi text itself.
Thats pretty much what I explained in the other post too

And the fact that when moving around in the e.g. sms-menu, the "hourglass" is gone,...it was there before,..now it just goes directly into the sms-menues (send sms, read sms and so on).
That states very clearly that the phone works faster,..what else could it be

I dont know if theres any differences in the battery-times,..I dont think so, but of course I havent been able to see these yet.
Thats always pretty hard to determine. I never have two days that look alike
And my battery-times are quite good already.

I'm not sure you're gonna see any! If you prefer the new popupmenu, then it maybe will feel faster. But T9 itself just aint faster now than before!

fresj: I don't mean the ringtone volume, I mean SMS alert.
Setting it to tone (wich is the louder of 3) is still virtually non audible!

I hope there will be soon a new firmware to correct this critical parameter. (eg a choice to select from personal sounds)...

Not everyone said that r2b025 was quicker but I believe you if you say so. CyberVisitor, for instance, did not experience a faster phone with the new software.

efyou: I was commenting CyberVisitors post...
But I agree with you about the sms alert.

I'm a bit pissed off. Called an SE service point yesterday, asked if they had the NEW update for the i and they confirmed this. Spent 1,5 hours off work to get the damn thing. When I check the service menue on the phone, it still says R2A014. I point this out to the people who work there, but they tell me:

"This was just a small upgrade and SE didn't bother changing the name of the software."

I told them "WHAT"! I was a bit pissed off and told them this. I don't like wasting time AND fuel on nothing. I was told to "calm down and take it easy"....

NOW I didn't get pissed, just annoyed and not because of the "new" software but for the simple reason that they had wasted my time. I don't like wasting other people's time so why should they waste mine?

I STILL have the R2A014......
