yeah, tranquil did that during the last days of the last big playtime!!! sessions. Actually he did 3 games at one time. It was mad trying to get a strategy together quickly to watch each one and have a reply ready etc... my heart hasn't beat so fast for a long time!

We plan to do the same during this session too so you'd better be watching very carefully!

tranquil and masseur: can I make a suggestion for a tweak to the rules of Playtime to stop (or at least reduce) the multi-posting?

Set a limit to the number of posts each player can post in a Playtime thread (5 for example). Anyone posting more than that will be disqualified.

What do you guys think?

no, I don't think its a good idea because people will be scared to post early in the game in case they use up all their posts getting to the required winning reply... and if we are looking for say post number 35 then it would take at least 7 people participating in that game and that doesn't happen very often. It will be worse if we are looking for a larger reply like the infamous 99 that tranquil did last time!

Also we found that under pressure the servers sometimes do double post.

It did work quite well in the first playtime sessions a couple of weeks back so unless tranquil disagrees I think we should leave it the same.

Yeah that's fair enough. The suggestion was only prompted by the antics of wrath000 yesterday Though I have to say I was amused to have sneaked my winning post between all his hundreds

yeah but remember multiple contiguous posts only count as one (the first one) so its still the luck of the draw who actually gets into winning positions.

Also your suggestion would make it harder to keep score and I think more rules take away from the fun of it all.

Hope you agree!

Hmmm..... in that case another suggestion to reduce the numbers of double posts: anybody who posts in a manner that he or she gets all 3 winning possitions will have 5 points deducted rather than win any. That oughta keep people from doing it again.

tranquil is having connections problems at work but all I can say is that he didn't change the rules for this during the last session so I won't change them now.

When he gets back online maybe he will consider these latest arguments.

erm..... I have a terrible connection at work, it takes me on average some 4 mins 13 secs to reload a page..... not much use for a playtime session
