Phone off for me at night. I just can't sleep with the thought that the telephone might ring and make me jump!! Hard attacks are round the corner hehe!! I had some bad experiences in the past from drunk friends calling me in the middle of the night to tell me hello!
In case of emergency there is the landline

Mine only goes off when i want to show off the custom startup and shutfown MP4s from ihardcastle.

If you dont want folk to call you, flip it onto flight mode, you still have the alarm without the calls.

I've heard of a profile creator due soon for the P800.
Other fones, with profiles, i've setup to be on silent but accept calls from specific caller groups, i.e. Mates or family.
When this arrives i will be complete

Better have the phone on all the time. Sure you have to reboot it every now and then, but having it on is better and won't affect the life of your battery.

The P800 alarm program cannot wake up the phone as in old classical phones, that's due to the nature of the P800.

For you guys using the alarm to wake up in the morning, why not going to the "flight mode" when you go to bed?

Cheers /CD

this is an odd thread!

i only turn my p800 off when i want to impress my lady she thinks its sweet that im 'uncontactable' and all hers !

the only other times i switch off is, as someone else said.. in a hospital and on flights.

does any one else feel a sence of satisfaction with being uncontactable to anyone anywhere, when your phone is off? (hope she doesnt find out). ive used mobile telephones since '94 and since then anyone can find me!

hee hee, the worst i had recently was decending on the holloway road lift (into the london underground) and she phoned as i went out of reception so it seemed as if i hung up on her then turned off my phone (due to 25 mins on the tube).... i had 4 sms messages which grew progresivly angrier as the minutes went on...

has anybody been asked/told to switch of their P800 when it was in Flight Mode?

and more importantly, did they believe you that the fone was 'safe'?

i had a midland flight attendant tell me to turn it off and i was genuinely using it for business....in flight mode. she didnt belive me so i later wrote to them and got a concent style letter from them.. just the same as my GPS system when they told me it would transmit signals (it can only recieve) i can use them both now!

anymore?

the time i was told to turn it off was when my lil brother wanted to call me and i'd left it on FM allday.

cause he was only in the next and only wanted me to get up and make him a cup of tea.

i had the last laugh, called me pa and had him bring me one up but not me bro.

muhahahaha
