I got a Virgin Mobile pay as you go one at the carphonewarehouse. It cost a bomb £350 but it included £25 cred. Its a bit of a rip off.
You're gonna be better off getting it on contract. The prices on contract have been falling down for ages. I've seen a 121 T68 for £100 at the carphonewarehouse as well.
I'm probably gonna sell it if the MMS upgrade doesn't come anytime soon.
Might get a gamecube with the cash, what do guys think?

I have done some research.
If I get the mobile on contract (£200) it will cost £379.99 for a year (including the line rental, not including text/phone calls)
however, if i get it on 'pay as you go' it will cost £350 for the rest of my life. It would cost an extra £180 each year line rental on contract.
So, below is how much it will cost for 5 years:
contract: £1099.99
pay as you go: £350
hmmm...lol...maybe i will get it on pay as you go. What networks are avaliable with the T68 on pay as you go?
Thanks all )

A short, borderline-patronising guide to mobile buying in the UK
If you're going to buy from Carphone Warehouse, first go online to onestopphoneshop.com or mobileshop.com, and print out their price list. Carphone Warehouse will match any online price, and hence this would bring the T68 down by about £100. This is best if you want cheap prices, and also want face-to-face sales.
Do not buy a Vodafone contract phone from phones4u, as someone suggested - their SP, Singlepoint, have a very, very long history of screwing their customers out of a lot of cash - if you cancel after 12 months, they tend to keep billing you anyway, and send bailiffs round to nick your TV\video to pay for it!
If you want pay-as-you-go, the smart move is to buy a sim-free T68 on eBay, then buy a separate simpack for the network of your choice. A sim-free T68 is about £200 on eBay, and a simpack will cost you between £5 and £20. A bit of a saving on £399! If you do use eBay, make sure you only buy from sellers with a high feedback rating (that number by their name).
And good luck! |

no networks do it officially on Pay as you go. YOull have to buy a sim free one from somewhere, and slap in a pay as you go sim card.
thats how i did it. But you gotta take into account that calls are much more expensive on PAYG when compared to contract... |

Virgin do it in their larger stores e.g. the V Shops in London, for £369.99. You'll save a packet going the sim-free route on eBay. |

Oh, and the PAYG vs Contract argument.
If you get the T68 on PAYG, forget GPRS. And HSCSD. And MMS - it won't be available on PAYG at the time of writing. Plus, you'll be better off on contract. You only save money on PAYG if you never, ever make any calls - and whats the point of having a phone if thats the case? I used to put about £10 a week on my PAYG phone, working out at £40 a month! I'm now on Everyday 50 on Orange, and paying about £17 a month. |

All the UK networks support WAP on prepay.
In addition, Orange will soon release GPRS on PAYG.
