yes I wished for it before, ability to upgrade your phone yourself
would be one of the greater features. Not everyone live close
to service centers and not everyone can live without the phone
a week if the dealer sends it away for upgrade. |

1. Fix the hissing sound in the speaker when talking on the phone.
2. Allow user to change the default program to run on the camera/WAP/MORE"Right soft button in standby"/Up joystick button in standby.
3. Allow the "0" key to scroll down the list of T9 words during SMS just like the T68i.
4. Allow Chinese SMS input.
5. Fix the memory allocation issue. A 10KB file should take up 10KB no more no less.
6. Allow assigning unique ringtone to each group. Currently you can assign individual ring tones to individual name.
7. Allow you to add a "name" into a group instead of a individual number of a name into a group.
8. On new sms, once you selected the name of the receipant, allow the right soft button to send immediately instead of us needing another 3 button press on the left soft button to actually send a sms.
Thats about all. Not too long a list right?

Faster software, yes.. although t610 seems pretty snappy.
Please NO exchangeable shells!! I don´t want another creaky squeaky phone (after 8310)
scrap the joystick and use pad instead (like S55 and t200)
Make SE phone with curves!! Please!
I have come to the point where I actually consider buying a t610, but that is strictly because of features, I don´t find it the least bit attractive! Maybe, maybe if the top half were carbon fibre or anodized aluminium, but the hi-gloss black is just soo tacky.. great for dusting for fingerprints though |

I thought T610 was ugly untill I saw it in the store it was alot nicer
then the impressions one got from the pictures. The same thing
goes for T68i. But I guess it will be impossible to make a phone everyone thinks is beutifull. |

Now you see.. thats one I disagree with... I like the T610 shape.
For me the best enhancement would be the self-upgrade option which works very well on my HP ipaq.

Exactly, It's all a matter of opinion... Most people I know who have seen the phone in person have really liked the design!
SE are never going to please everyone. |

Oh yes, forgot that.. i love the browsable filesystem and online FW-upgrades for my S55
I realize that it´s all but impossible to make a phone that suits everybody´s taste looks-wise, but i still can´t for the life of me find the "New generation" SE´s attractive.. sorry..

of cause its a matter of taste, but also what you are used to.
SE could do a lot to make better phones in my opinion. |

Wishlist for improvement in T610 firmware
1) allow more than one note to be posted on the main screen.
2) allow customise all the 4 directions of the joystick, up, down, left and right.
3) allow setting of more than 1 alarm.
4) battery information, like the old ericsson mobiles, "left 1hr talktime", etc...

Allow Line 2 on the P800, When I upgraded I had to cancel my line2 because of that.

I have some things that could be improved on the T610 just by firmware updates.
I agree with wrath000 and others:
Quote:
| It would be nice if they implemented Java midp 2, with raw sockets and bluetooth apis on the T610 |
|
This should be possible by updating the firmware.
Java, sockets:
-------
It is a very important thing, that phones like the Nokia 3650 have. When you have applications on your mobile phone, ofcourse it should be possible to make use of the Internet (and Bluetooth). It makes no sense otherwise - then it's just a phone with "Gameboy" capabilities. And talking about games, if you had raw socket support, think of the cool multiplayer games you could make.
I would really, really like to be able to use ICQ, Messenger etc. using GPRS. Also I'm a developer and could think of lots of different uses for java applications connected to the Internet.
LEDs
-------
The one LED on the T610 should be sufficient for signaling different kinds of messages like: new incomming message, low battery etc. It could blink/flash in many different ways. If your tests show that some people don't like it, just make it possible to dissable it. In my T39m the LED wasn't of much use. But if you could make it blink in a particular way if you had a new message og maybe a missed call, it would be really useful.
not waiting for a T610 anymore... getting a Nokia 3650 today |
