I'd be fine with 160 x 120 or 192 x 144, at 12-15fps...with audio
They should make it limitless a/v recording...just like the 7650 and 3650... saved on the Duo...
At 160x120, the CCD (or CMOS) sensor is pretty ok in low light, no need to lower shutter speed, etc... but if Sony decides to put "Night Shot", I'm not gonna complain. |

anyone thought about that the p800 is simply not fast enought to record video ? it can hardly playback my ogg-files, why the hell it should be able to record mpeg - video ?
probably some genius can manage to incorporate some sort of motion-jpeg codec that is fast like hell, but no chance with realtime mpeg encoding i suspect. but then the clips will get big and the transfer rate to the memory stick could be too slow.
so - proofe me wrong

Hi,
I am not allowed to spread it or name it - you guys have to trust me. CamCoder is in beta and comes from a well-known brand with competence in webcam technologies too.
The files are in MP4 format, and when I record in this version around 10 secs. of movie, I have like 80kB of MP4 file. The refresh rate is quite excellent, and the movies show good quality. |

@herc
If the 3650 is fast enough to do it then the P800 can definately handle it!

Assuming it actually worked and recorded video, isnt there going to be a bit of a prob for the avg user with the mic being on the other side of the phone to the camera ?
Might be an idea to get a hands free kinda of adapter or something for audio input?

Well, it is as good as it would be at the front, i guess. Simply because the mic is below the phone...
Note: I am not SW developer of that application, I just got hands on it over private relations to somebody working with the developing company, and testing it for convenience purposes and other usage. Thus I am just refering to my own experiences with it. I am not affiliated with the manufacturer myself - still NDA (non disclosure agreements) are binding obligations. |

@ami6 I know you wont distribute the program you have, but would it be possible to give us on the board a sample of the video you have taken using it ? 80kb wont really take long to Up Load on any connection and Im sure it will be of interest to alot of people on this board |
