Is the upgrade on EMMA? If so, I guess I can get it upgraded in Norway, where it's no queues [addsig]

I got my software upgraded today(at least they said it was at GEAB). There isn't a change. Either they havn't made a sw upgrade or it's a hardware problem. I will return there tomorrow.

It's not a sw fix. It requires a hardware change.

The problem is with the "comfort" noise. Phones aren't made completely silent, cause people don't like them. But the comfort noise was miscalculated for an early batch, which, as you know, has now been fixed.

Kinda makes sence.
When ppl talk with me on the T68i they often ask me if I'm still
there cause when I don't talk the line gets totally quiet.

Then what should I do? Should I get my phone replaced or just wait for the new SW?

DONT TRUST mobil.se

I have a friends at the servicecenter and thanx to that they fixed my phone in just one day.. so know its back and works great. .no hissing sound.. and what they did was adjust somehting with the speaker.

I will mail mobil.se and say that to them.. they should stop lying... this isn't the first time..

In swedish, now SE won't say if its SW or HW error that causes the hissing sound....

hi guys...i just bought the t610 frm orange in hong kong last friday and
when i took it home and made a call ..it had this most annoying hissing sound...went back to orange the next day and they said they will receive second batch on 22nd. Went today and tried 4 different t610's and all of them had this hissing sound. They even claimed that sony ericsson has said that this is normal. I was soo angry and refused to accept a new phone with problem and said will wait for their new lot which they said they will get next week. The hissing sound is really annoying when u talk in a quiet environment like home or office. I m soo angry and frustrated with sony erisson.. they made such a beautiful phone but yet don't check their phones before they sell it for distriubution. Does anyone here know which batch will not have the hissing problem ? or has the hissing problem been solved ??

As you can read above, the hissing problem can be repaired with a hardware fix. Which could be a regulating or a truely hardware exchange thing. Second way would be better because your phone should have same quality as the new ones. Otherwise regulating is just a "alibi fixing"..

But this is just rumor ... we have to wait for an official statement what exactly(!) is wrong.

there won't be a statement about what was wrong. It is a minor problem that has been rectified, and all phones currently in the market can be fixed.
