Try spysweeper (download is possible for ex. At Www.gamehippo.com) I have had a gator(gain)/trickler 4010. Check your windows/temp if there isn't trickler4010.exe. Find all _restore, temp folders. I've had on C: _RESTORE REALLY INVISIBLE FOLDER TEMP AND THERE WAS THE MAIN GATOR with his 1GB . You have to type it. Deletion is only possible from dos(www.freedos.org) or by booting from CD.

I still can't get rid of this crap. I've been told that it is microsoft spyware. It says Messenger Service on the title bar of every pop up. No anti spyware software I've tried seems to find it. Anyone else have an idea on how to get rid of this crap? |

windows messenager is a built in program to xp.its the same as msn messenger its not spyware.sounds to me like its trying to activate itself and also upgrade itself.
when xp first came out the meesenger did nt do a lot and there have been about 5 software upgrades to it.
if poss can you post a screen grab so we can see the box etc
you could also try control alt delte to see what processes you have running and turn it off from there
also try putting a firewall on like sygate it wont get rid of the problem but it will tell you what is trying to connect or leave your machine |

Microsoft<->spyware<->gay ads -> lol! Microsoft doesn't have anything to do with gay porn :-D To remove spyware, use Lavasoft Ad-aware 6 (download at www.lavasoft.nu).

I was just going to recommend Lavasoft. The free version is good but it only cleans them up after they are there and only when you run it to do the clean.
I use the plus version which stops them before they get onto your pc and I can very much recommend paying the money.

The popup's are from Message within the Operating system. Ed your right. This is the fix we do on BTopenworld.
There is another way round it as well. Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > then messenger.

You're talking about 'network spam'? Those little dialog boxes with only text in it? Now you know how to block it, here's how to do this by yourself: in to Start > Run and enter 'NET SEND xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx \"message\"' in the dialog box (replace xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx with the IP adress of the eh... victim :-D. To test it with yourself, you can use your own IP adress or just enter 'localhost' instead.) Greetzz

It's not the same. Don't worry about it. If people get the messages then they will understand if not then they won't.
Good trick though about the net send we use it here at work.
