Regarding GOwin's list of symbols. I would take a semi-informed guess... Tibetan? They looked similar to some of the Tibetan texts I've seen. Otherwise I would continue to guess for something coming from that region. In any case, they are definitely not Han characters.

Ok, so the confusion was that GOwin didn't specifically state those characters posted by him were ancient Philippine scripts.
