to Yann,

I didn't know that the T610 was already arrived in France!
Are you Dealer, Trader or beta-tester?

Can you give us your first feeling?

thanks

Goldorak,

Some imports will allow to get a T610 next monday (Tu connais "Sultan"? ).

No, I'm not a reseller, nor a trader...

And my feelings about the T610 is just "love"! A true enhancement from my beloved T68i...
I know I will have two devices in my pockets: a P800 and a T610.

The T610 has 2 MB for user data and the screen is pretty good! I have both a Panasonic GD-87 and a T610 in my hands right now, and the quality is quite similar (but the GD-87's screen is more viewable when you're not right front of it)...

I really love this new SE phone!

Thanks... this is what I've been saying all along. And my impressions is also that the screen of the GD87 and the T610 is quite similair quality wise.

Seriously... the phone has 2MB. Period! You don't have to worry about that. As I explained above the memory status works exactly like the T68 so give it a rest. There are 2MB in the phone shown above.

About the screen. The T610 STN screen is very good (I've tried it in real life) so the complains about it is unjustified. You seems to be obsessed about the screen being TFT or STN. Which is totally irrelevant if it is a good screen and the screen is very very good. PERIOD!

I'm getting a bit fed up with people who are assuming things out of thin air.

Just to prove my point on the memory status shown in the T610, I took a picture of my T68 appearing to only have 60kb of memory.

Not the best quality pic though, just a quickly taken picture

Let just hope SE will fix memory allocation issue. I can live with 2MB if 30kb photo takes 30kb in phone memory. If it takes 70kb, Houston, we got a problem...

With a SecureDigital (none of that Memory Stick Duo farce, thank you!) slot and a media player this would have been my next phone. As the specs stand now it's just another average phone. Oh well, maybe next year there will be something that's worth getting excited over.

@ robpow

Seriously I don't get people wanting to have removable memory on the T610. (Memorystick Duo or SD). What use would it be? It's not like the camera produces large photos and using it as a digitalcamera isn't an option. It can't play mp3's. Removable memory would be a waste on the T610 and would also increase the price of the phone. It's a phone not a PDA/smartphone.

The P800 is the phone for the people wanting that kind of stuff.

@ ppcrockar:

As I wrote "with a media player" it would be a great entertainment device for playing MP3's and the screen is just about large enough for small video clips. Since it's got a camera SE are obviously not aiming it squarely at business users so I don't think multimedia capabilities would be unreasonable and hence the need for a memory card slot.

BUT the T610 isn't that phone, I was pointing out that it's just another average phone from my (favourite) mobile phone company which will sell OK, but not in heaps. When the T68 was released there was nothing else that came close to it, the P800 was another step forward but unfortunately too little (or big, rather) too late.

Maybe the T620 will be the answer to my wishes...

At the end of the day the T610 is likely to be another successfull phone for SE.

Listen guys if you want to take digital pictures BUY a DIGITAL CAMERA!

The quality of shots on mobile phones (110,000 pixels) is going to be grainy and unusable for anything else than looking at on your phone. It's not even good enough to print off. So GET OVER IT.

Its a mobile phone.....
