it all seems fine, i can access pages like wap.google.com and the like with no problem it seems... could you explain what you mean? thanks.
EDIT:
this phone is causing me more stress that me bloody exams lol...
can someone please please please just tell me what accounts i need... what settings for those accounts and if it all comes under the £2.35/MB bracket that ive been told of
i want to be able to surf the net and send mms - for as cheap as possible...
if i actually knew of any good wap pages i might understand what ure all on about, but wap seems like the odd good site has wap version and thats it... not much use really when all the sites and forums i use are html...
so please just tell me which settings i need and when to use which account... i'm sure there are so many people out there who arent clear on all this either...

Just select the mobile.o2.co.uk Internet Account you manually set up & make sure the Preferred WAP Account tick box is unmarked. This arrangement will access full web pages only & not WAP.

hmm, that's exactly what's happening to me on orange payg gprs (whilst using an unlocked vodafone P800)...i just wish it would work!!! orange cust serv say they can't guarantee it will work on payg..how silly!!! |

My theory about the Orange PAYG GPRS is that they will only allow approved models to be used i.e. majority of Pay As You Go handsets as listed on their brochure.
Orange can't be bothered to test & approve the P800 for PAYG GPRS as they want customers to use their monthly SIM's only instead now.
There is no reason why GPRS on the P800 should not work with a PAYG SIM, Orange don't want it to work full stop, so seem to have deliberately disabled the GPRS feature.
This is done by recognising the model identity of the P800 by its TAC code (first 6 digits of the IMEI), when trying to logon to GPRS (even though it's shown attached).
Hopefully one day when the P800 reaches its twilight they will sell it as Pay As You Go and GPRS will work by then.
Completely p****d off with Orange about this and to add insult to injury from 1st May the new pay increases on PAYG. What's the point of Oftel in the first place?

Hi Jalu,
Am using Pay & Go O2 too as the main SIM card.
The only reason I used Orange PAYG as well (on my old T68) is the need for full internet GPRS access, which O2 Pay & Go don't offer yet (or ever?).
Not that it matters now as the reason for the Orange PAYG purpose is unusable now! |
