I wish se would set up official service centers in usa. Everything is network based instead of manufacturer based. Why wont the carrier flash the phone.

The carrier probably won't flash the phone because that would involve them having to buy all the kit, which works out quite expensive. Instead, they can just point you to the manufacturer and it's out of their hands - much easier
Head to a servicepoint, they are nice people
I went to mine today and got my firmware done for free (probably because I bought a spanking new silver desk charger) and had a nice chat with the woman too.

I guess us Americans are out of luck since there are no such flash points here. It would take more than sweet talk and a shiny new charger to get an upgrade here. Jalu will see this on his business trip.
