Yes that is something software can change. Called power management, the software will be written to turn off parts of the phone which are not being used, therefore extending battery time! Sounds strange but that's how things work!!!

Not sure about other countries but here in the UK if they advertise something they have to come through with it or else they can be prosecuted, so if they've advertised that when the mms software is available it will be given to all those with a T68 and they don't they could be in big trouble, hope you're reading this:SE:

The only problem I have with all this is, that we have to wait so long for our update. I totally understand SE that they are shipping the 68i in a new design. This way customers can be sure to get the newest phone (i would be disapointed if I bought a new T68 and I actually got one from october instead on one of the new ones just presented at the press conference, at least if the price was the same). It would also have looked VERY stupid if SE showed the "standard" T68m at the press conference on friday. "Look at our new software..."
If our phone gets ecxatly the same features as the new t68i then I am still completely satisfied with my phone.
And who knows, because our design has only been out for a short period of time it might be worth some money some day

BTW, a long time ago when the Nintendo N64 came out in the stores here in Denmark it costed around 200£. Two or three months later they dropped the price with 70£ and I really got pissed because I felt they were making fun of the loyal Nintendo fans, so I wrote them a very nice letter explaining my views. A week later I got a package from them containing 2 games, a joypad and a memory card. Worth more than 130£. Ofcourse I was thrilled because the 70£ was a lot of money for me then (I was 15 ) Anyway, my point is that it sometimes help to write that nice letter to the companies, even though I dont have anything to complain about at ES. The sevice centers always have very nice people, and when I call Ericsson in Denmark they are also very nice.
