What's the candidate list bug? Since I'm not aware of it I guess R7A isn't necessary for of :-D

Hmm my phone still doesn't have the service-menu fading and the gprs-monitor? Do I have to do a master reset or somethin else to get these features? I did reboot the phone (by pulling the battery out )...
But also one line in the sw-info is different, mine states prgCXC125323, his phone states prgCXC125375, could there be more R7A013's, or is that just the difference in language? |

I think the different prg# is because of different language packages,
but i would also like to know about the cannel info and GPRS channel things. |

floke, the candidate list bug manifests randomly when using T9. when it suggests a word (candidates) in a list menu, you can't move thru the list. you must have candidates on to see this. |

the CXC number tells you what language versions the firmware contains.
R7A013 does not include fading menus and GPRS info... put the phone in the freezer and you'll get fading menus, GPRS channel info and Channel info can be activated by a servicepoint, it exist in all versions, but it's disable by default...

Mine states...
R7A013prgCXC125383
R7A013prgCXC125326_TAE
I noticed the improvements such as:
1) faster menus/lists scrolling
2) somewhat faster texting
3) faster deleting of sms messages
4) improved battery level reporting
But the bad side is the font consistency bug is back. It was fixed in R6A or is it just me?
SMS alert tone sound level is still the same.

the font consistency is based on the language pack, ie. EURO1, EURO2, ASIA LATIN1, ASIA LATIN2, etc.
Mine is EURO2 (English, Espanol, Francais, Portugues) and has font consistency. |

@arnold, if i'm using a t68m-i, i have the european languages in my language menu. If i upgrade to r7a, would the servicepoint be using the euro language pack also? I'm currently using r6a and still have inhibitions to upgrade to r7a.

@arnoldc
So what should I opt to have on my phone so that there would be consistency in font sizes? I checked the languages and was surprised to see Tagalog in it. Nakakatuwa nga e. Hehhehehe!
Nevertheless, I still would like to have the font size consistent all throughout. Would probably get another upgrade.
Thanks for the info.

I just got a call from SE SP Engströms (Sickla) here in Sweden. My T68i was on service because of a loose bottom contact. I had R7A installed but they downgraded me to R6B. They said that SE didn't want them to use R7A.

I just upgraded my t68i software to R7A and I would just like to share my experience with SE at SM City North Edsa. I was actually prepared to shell out 500 bucks for the upgrade since my older firmware (R5C) was giving me headaches with random hangs and other irritating bugs. So I passed by the SE showroom and asked if they were equipped to upgrade the firmware. 'Lo and behold they told me that they did and it was free!!! They didn't ask for any Official Receipt or any proof!! So I had it upgraded...now I have noticed that it boots faster and menu response has slightly improved and so far I haven't experienced any hangs. So my suggestion to people from QC...instead of trekking to smartnet or SE in Makati maybe you should just drop by SE at SM North Edsa...it is located in the Cyberzone area at the Carpark section. Galing ng service ng SE!!...i'll be very happy to upgrade my t68i to the t610 when it comes knowing SE has this kind of customer support.... |
