@ardman
We add GPRS, have to leave that 24 hours then add MMS.
Your settings might still be incorrect - have you tried sending them out from the site?
Try accessing GPRS too, see if that works for you.

I have no probs with GPRS. The idiot I spoke to said I couldn't have both as their wasn't enough memory on my SIM card to store the settings. It will be good to speak to someone from O2 that actually knows something about phones. |

If you're on o2 prepay, PM me sometime, I'll get you sorted.
Hell, I managed to get *mine* sorted

Hi, would you be able to tell me why the website www.accountmanagement.o2.co.uk won't allow me to sign in with my phone number. It forces me to use my membership number.
Really quite annoying cause i can't memorize it.
Thanks,
OWEN

I'm afraid I honestly don't know, all I can say is that it works for me...
I don't have any details for that however, all I can suggest is that you use the "tell" or "ask" section of the site to find out.

Still no success with O2.
Was told it was a software download prob at their end and to wait 24hrs and power my phone off/on. Still no MMS and they are again ignoring my emails. Maybe it's time to change networks............ |

It's true that GPRS takes 24 hours to be added otherwise it won't go on successfully. It's quite probable this is where you are stuck.
You could try calling up and asking to be transferred to Data Services, they are the boys for GPRS/MMS problems.

Anyone who's had trouble getting a useful response from e-mail support and refuses to call the expensive helpline should try asking about activating GPRS and MMS at an 02 store. When I tried this, the assistant made the telephone call for me (saving me a few quid; she was on-hold for the best part of 5 minutes).
Within 5 hours (and a handset restart), I'd got the blue triangle icon and GPRS was working fine. However, although the assistant definitely specified the activation of both GPRS and MMS (seemingly without complaint on the other end of the phone), I'm still waiting to see if the 'user barred' message will be lifted on MMS... |

I've never had any probs with GPRS. It's MMS that is the problem. No one seems to know what to do. As soon as I think I've found someone that knows what they're doing they stop responding to my emails. I've been dealing with data support but now have the same problem with them.
I've been with Cellnet/O2 for 15+ years without any problems. I'm going to look into the other networks now cos I can't be bothered with them anymore. |

Just let me tell you a true story...
You know there was an offer offering 50 free MMS messages (in the UK) until 30 March when you register for MMS? Well, I've signed up about one week before the closing date, and surprise, surprise, MMS was 'barred' until AFTER 30 March.
When I sent an MMS after March, it costed me 35p again. Fan-bloody-tastic.
O2 is beginning to piss me off now. Doesn't apply to Jalu - he's nice |

You're right there. Jalu seems to be one of the few that know one end of a phone from the other.
I'm gonna try again with them tomorrow, then I'm giving up. |

I had my pre-pay gprs/mms setting sent from the se web site and they did not work (wrong apn), so I had them sent from the o2 site and these are right.
Why can't I be happy with one phone? |

Your best bet is to phone up and ask to be transferred to Data Services.
They are absolutely the best people to speak to - I have no doubt there are good people on your specific service providers team but it's hard to get to those specific people. It's like me on Prepay - I've been there a while and I know a lot but if I didn't post here, you wouldn't know I exist.
However, it's Data Services job to know about this stuff in detail, so ask to speak to them and you'll probably have more luck. Email is nice, but sometimes the phone gets more done.

The bottom line is, the charge to the ALL Member Services should be scrapped! I won't call them again until they're doing something about the hold, so now I'm relying on Jalu!
I salute you, Jalu!
