I've tried both of them... I would really go for the 5100... It has a betterscreen and backlight. You have to get used to the buttons though.. But furthermore the phone is really nice.

i must say that the 3510i is bad.i had 3 of them in the end i gave up becasue they all had bugs in them.all my friends that have had them had the same problems with the 3510i.when you use wap and try to login to email or use a forum or fill out a form the phone freezes.it resets when it feels like it.the ringtones play up.the only 1 thing i liked about it was the monopoly game.the 2nd one i had froze when u made calls.to be honest its the worst nokia ever.i changed it for the sony ericsson t310. |

out of the 2 i'd go 4 the 5100, it's newer than the 3510i (i think).
comparing the 3510i and 5100:

that's not the 3510i is it? well it appears to have the same specs, the 3510i doesn't have infared if that makes any difference.

Put simply the 5100 is better than the 3510i in every aspect. It's Series 40 vs Series 30, meaning bigger screen, more memory, IR port, slightly better ringtones (better speaker), has a speakerphone unlike the 3510i, plus all the extra features like flashlight, calore meter, temperature meter etc

I had a 3510i once and after that i wil never buy a nokia again. That says alot cuz i whas a real nokia fan.  |
