As far as I know ist the T68 technically identical with the T68i. Only the cover and the software have been changed. It is possible to upgrade your 'old' T68 to the T68i with MMS and all the other enhanced functions. In Germany it is supposed to arrive in the 3rd week of march and is supposed to cost € 30,-. Could anyone possibly tell me whether Sonyericsson charges for the update in other countries too ?

Python44.... it counts as an ordinary software upgrade, which is suppose to be free as long as there is warranty left on the phone. Doing an upgrade on warranty makes the servicepoint collect a small warranty charge from , so they get paid (allthough they'll make more money on a non warranty softwareupgrade)
Most of the servicepoints here in Sweden does the upgrade for free, but saw in a Swedish magazine that there might be sp's that take out a fee for it.

Why not check with other servicepoints? You will probably find several servicepoints that does the upgrade for free.

I did have the R2A and noticed that the T9-speed was improved.
Now that I've got R2B it seemed to slow again.
Anyone noticed the same or difference?

Cytech : I hoped I would not have to travel through half of Europe to get a free update
According to my SP are regular software-updates free, but this upgrade does not exchange faulty software, but gives me new, enhanced functions and virtually upgrades me to an T68i. I wonder what Sonyericsson says to such practices... I mean, I paid more than € 550 for the phone and the bluetooth headset and I'm not really interested in shelling out another € 30 !

Python44... A nice trip around Europe... sounds great but... it would probably cost more than the German SP's would take for the upgrade
ok, it contains some new features, BUT, it does contain a whole lot of fixes as well.. just complain your phone hangs itself or something If the servicepoint still wants you to pay I would recommend you to contact helpdesk...

Cytech: They told me that I will get the regular update to R2B for free, but not the MMS update, when I asked them what would happen if I needed an update say in 2 months time, he replied they would be developing to two softwares seperately ...
Sounds a bit unrealistic, right ?

Python44... sounds like the SP you have been talking to doesn't no a sh*t (sorry for that word )... MMS is a part of the new software and not some kind of "addon"... (I have tested the new software myself, so I know )

I know, but the other SP's are almost all an hours drive away from me, but I will try to call them tomorrow to give me a quote on their prices, then I still might complain to SE.
