As far as I know, R6A allows U to save pictures. Heard that AT&T versions had that option disabled. U can always ask in SE service before upgrading to be 100% sure.

BTW, I'm going to upgrade my R2E tommorow also. I'll be near servicepoint and already made an appointment

@boyi: don't know how about u, but i did update, and it is possible to save images from wap. Also noticed that x-html stylesheets r working, that means real wap in colour: i.e. go on SE wapsite -links now are red.

Upgrading your soetware will not cause a data lost in your phone! Just like 4 instance your saved pictures and otther stuffs, anyway that could not b altered! I experienced this when i have changed my software from R5C to R6A.i thought all my stuffs on the phone like the configuration and much mre the pictures i have saved, BUT after i received the phone nothing lost! I swear! Master reset? Maybe will lost all that but not when you plan for conversion of your soetware!

I've had 3 upgrades and have never lost any data. That includes all data, WAP, and bluetooth settings. I have an unlocked T68i with r7a.

The reason i lost my wap data was cus when i phoned the day b4 they said i wud lose everything so i put my pics, tones contacts etc on the PC,well i thought i may as well do a master reset to try release any lost memory as ppl have said u can do,it worked anyway. All i am missing is my nowmms settings :-)

Seems like theres a split.

cpw says that upgrading will lose all items in memory.

Anyway, ive backed up all my ringtones and pictures which was extremely boring. I just created a mms message with evreything in it and sent it to my email address.

I also used phone backup from chrissterson.org to backup the setting in my phone.

The only firmware upgrade that wipes any data is the non-MMS to MMS upgrade. If you already have an MMS capable firmware, then an update to a newer firmware will NOT wipe any data. I have upgraded my T68 a few times since I upgraded to the MMS firmware and I haven't had any data loss (except for the original non-MMS to MMS firmware).
CPW always say you'll lose your data just so they're not liable, and because they're clueless salespeople.
So, whilst you should backup your data, just in case there's a major screwup, the upgrade itself will not touch your data.
