Well all I want to say is... I hope SE are paying attention to this forum as there seems to be a lot of people on here from around the world with a varying degree of problems with the new Sony P800..!!

Lets hope they get on top of these problems quickly as I'm sure people will not be too happy departing with their money for a hand full of problems.

I think I'll wait awhile until they sort out these teething problems before I invest my hard earned cash into the P800...

More than happy with my T68i at the mo..

Mind you, I've always had the latest phones and this is the girst time I have ANY kind of problem with 'em.

I am glad just the memorystick is not working in mine, cuz I dont think I could survive many days without my beloved P800!

Has anybody had problems with their memorystick yet? Mine has frozen totally, cant delete anything from it (and yes, I have checked that the write protection is turned off)
I am sending it to a servicecenter later today

i had the same problem with one of the commercial units I purchased. It wouldnt recognize the memory stick. I reformatted the memorey stick from the P800 and `voila` it did the trick.

yup it happened to me...

its in the service center now and i will tell you what went wrong with it as soon as theyre done with it tomorrow or the day after...

i know exactly how you feel mate

hang in there i dont have my p800 for 4 weeks now and its being serviced in another country then i gotta wait another week for it to get back to me

also after 1 week after i added the games and pics it went dead like yours that could be a reason too...

meanwhile email SE and tell them your problem and they should help you since you probably live in a place where there is a SE service center

Having just gotten my P800 I am a little concerned by these problems that seem to be arising.

Can the people who have these problems say what they last installed or did with the phone before it "broke". This would be useful if we find a common problem or application that we can possibly avoid in the future.

I hope the users whose phones have developed faults get their P800's back soon in fully working order.

Hi,

Can you all also say what network providers you are using and which country of origin the phone came from too? Just in case there are issues because the phones haven't been tested with those providers.

My network is Orange UK. My software is R1B and all appears fine at the moment.

The sync station works fine, software installation is working and all other phone functions are fine, for now, and hopefully forever.

One thing though, the Men in Black game is incredibly easy, I completed it on my second attempt!

The problem is the following ... and they know about it ... in fact they knew about it in the manual if you read between the lines ... have a look at the bit of the manual about the "File Manager" and note the bit about "always sync your device to avoid data corruption" ...

If you put too much stuff on the device it doesn't have enough room to boot properly as the "working" and "data" memory is all on the shared flash memory. In the process the OS gets knackered (that's a technical term).

The "Your phone is low on memory" warnings should NEVER be ignored on the first batch of P800's ... new firmware fixes it. It's fatal when it happens.

I think that was it-- memory. After the upgrade, I've taken care not to overload it, and there has been a big improvement in stability. Don't fill up your P800 too full.
