'Middle East' topic was deleted.. why?? |

I'll explain.
First I need to appologise for the delay of my reply, but I'm not by my PC all the time.
The topic has not been deleted, it's moved to a closed forum for Moderators to be looked at a bit closer.
The reason I moved the two topics was quite simple, they were not "intelligent discussions" in the end. "God will never let us lose against Israel and USA!!", "yes, tomorrow i will come into your home kick you out, destroy your other shelters, set up a militray and give you a curfew. and you are not allowed to fight back." and mixing Bin Laden into it all is not what I call intelligent frazes in a discussions.
Out of experience I found it best to keep an eye on them and they both started off in a good manner but they both ended up a bit OTT.
I think deleting one reply (Censorship toward one member) is worse than quaratene the topic.
I'll admit to having misjudged it if Laffen decides they ought to go back into the forum.
You will have a personal excuse from me if that will be the case.

After all,this is a mobile phone forum,read what it says at the top of the homepage.
Anyway i'm sure there's plenty of forums for these kind of discussions elsewhere on the net,i know i posted a reply on the shuttle thread but ppl started posting ridiculous stuff on there and that really pisses me off when ppl come along and start talking out of their arse's,i mean,as if bin laden has got anything to do with it and then hamza starts calling it a 'sign from God',oh please,it was a terrible accident.
Space travel IS still new you know.
If nobody wants it.. put it on eBay. |

Whilst I may not agree with all the 'radical' views written by some people, the topic was placed in a 'Mobile Free Zone' Although people are saying that wat is sed is terrible, the things written are peoples' opinions. U cant really tell people not write what they think in a Discussion Forum..
I know this isnt a political discussion website, there is a Mobile Free Zone which means that people are able to talk about other things when they dont have any problems with their phones. If u want to censor then just edit certain comments if they are too 'radical', but deleting a whole discussion topic is a bit OTT..

@ tranquil: I think it was a good move of you ... BUT ... lets bring back the two thread cause a forum is a place to share opinions, ideas, and lot's of others things, I know about the stupid post but it's easier to discuss with the mods and delete the stupid post and give a warning to the guy than delete the whole thread and if the guy won't listen to the multiple warnings just make a temp ban ....

There are thousands of message forums on the internet where users can express their political opinions.
One of the things I like most about Esato is that its users, who represent almost every nation, can share ideas and enthusiasm about mobile phone technology without racial, religious or political prejudice.
I feel politically charged discussions on Esato would only divide the user base and detract from the site's mission.
Esato's mission, in addition to providing free logos, ringtones, etc., is to provide a discussion forum in which users can talk about stuff related to mobile phones. Yes, there is a 'mobile-free' zone, but I think it was intended to be space where users can talk about lighter, off-topic subjects, like which is their favorite James Bond movie, or what new music they're listening to.
Allowing emotionally-charged threads about the Middle-East situation falls way beyond the scope of this site. I support the moderators' efforts to keep Esato politics-free.
Go somewhere else if you must discuss it. |

How come americans tend to concider themselves the center of the universe. How come that every bad thing that happens to them becomes one of history's greatest tragedies, and call upon the whole world to sympatise with them. How come that the lifes of seven astronauts is more important than the thousands of people who face tragic deaths every day often caused by american politics/financial interests. 7 astronauts who've probably lived exciting and fullfilling lives, knowing the dangers of their occupation is suddenly more important than half a million Iraqian children who died under amarican bombs. That's the power of the 'world police' and controlled media.

I agree Esato is a mobile phone site, and that should be the main topic of discussions..
However, some people may want to discuss such matters as well...
Im not saying people should start voicing racist prejudice views, however discussions about whats happening shouldnt be frowned upon..
The current events happening now are very important..
People may want to discuss these with people who arent political or fanatics, in such forums as the one present on Esato..
As for saying that the opinions may divide people on this site, this is an HUGE exagerration...
Different people have different views, as long as no1 is swearing or targeting a specific person, I dont think anybody is immature enough to become upset whilst reading people's opinions about certain topics...
In fact, different points of views will enable people to understand WHY certain groups of people feel a certain way and why they act in a certain way...
