Thanks. But what makes you unsure?

Don't buy the N78! As others have suggested the N86 is your best value for the dollar right now if you prefer candybar style phones.

Personally I really loved the E71 as it suited by needs better last year. For now ~ although I still love Symbian ~ I would not touch S60 at all!!

You do know that Symbian ~ core components, PIM, and UI ~ is undergoing a major overhaul right? I'd seriously wait a little longer, save your money and wait at least until May2009. No matter how much you tweak S60 3rd Edition (FP1/FP2)/5th Edition ... you'll still have that inbound calls issue where the name does not match the number even if its saved on your address book!

Stick with OSE for now, trade up to a better OSE. If you really don't NEED the power of S60 & said apps, then it'll just be a costly fad. You like to tweak apps, wait until February and get Rachel.

No, it is not the SE's best walkman but the best music phone period! I have listened to this phone and it is too stunning for words!

I always rated the Iphone as the best just eclipsing the W995 but the Aino destroys anything available. If Nokia were to come up with something to replace the N91 then that phone would probably be the one to beat the Aino.

Ooops! Off-topic, sorry.

That's still highly debatable, especially when W995 has won numerous Audio awards over iPhone. Personally, from my own comparison I found W995 to be better especially with manual eq which the iPhone doesn't have

Two of Sony Ericsson's best sounding Walkman phones are w995 and w595. Both have taut bass with great clarity.
Phone?? What phone??

@mode

Turn off the EQ on the W995 and compare it to the Iphone. It isn't a major difference but the subtle difference in audio reproduction puts the Iphone in front...only just. The scores for me would be 9.5 to the Iphone and 9.4 to the W995. But if you include the Aino then I'd give the Aino 9.8, that phone is incredible!

@Bonovox

The W595? I don't know.

@Dups!
I appreciate the fact that you're trying to compare apples with apples. But in war you don't put away your stinger missiles just because your enemy uses 15th Century catapults. You'd use everything in your arsenal to win. At the end of the day we're not reviewers who would look at which phones has dsp and which sounds better with eq off. We are consumers who just want the best and if manual eq can give that then it would speak by itself, no conditions. Why should W995 stoop to iPhone's level by turning eq off just to lose anyway? Frankly I found that W995 is significantly better since I didn't have to compare the sounds more than twice to know the winner

I'd say we ARE reviewers, and possibly the BEST out there. Because we USE all those hardware abbreviations, features and functions to the best of their abilities noticing glitches etc that "reviewers" cannot because they don't OWN the devices long enough to report such bugs on reviews.

Consumers review with their wallets!

That cracked me up a lot ,mode! You're right on that point and I agree. I guess if Apple decides to use an EQ then we'd have a a clear winner between it and the W995. For now, with EQ on the W995 is the winner.
