Is the Satio worth it? |

My NON-branded Satio has NO freezing or rebooting problems. No Wi-Fi disconnections either. The retail price in Greece is around 550-570 euros. I fortunately paid "only" 460. Would I buy it again if I could roll back in time? NO! It simply is not worth the price. It is just a Nokia 5800 with a much better camera, at DOUBLE the price! The Pixon 12 that I owned before took MUCH better photos and it was a complete multimedia phone with a MUCH better screen (in all terms) and MUCH better materials. The extra, silly, things that a Satio/Symbian phone can do due to their "smartness" are just...silly...unless you need it for some DEEPLY business functions...in which case Symbian has aged a lot, and you'd rather opt for Windows/iPhone/Blackberry. |

Im very happy with my satio. I dont regret the money i spent on it. It looks great as well as it feels in hand. The screen is the best i ever own. Its better than some OLED screens (n85 for exemple). No hardware problems but there are some bad things but its just firmware issues that can be solved if SE want to. Lets see what the new firmware will bring... |

I give up. I have ordered an iPhone instead. AFter 5 weeks of using the Satio Iīm very close to using words that are not proper in a forum like this.
Latest problems:
- battery not charging
-not being able to hear people when they call me (reinstalling firmware fixed some of it but gave me other problems)
-not being able to sync playlists with iTunes on my Apple computer (it worked at first) - computer does not find the Satio despite several attempts with various methods (including walking twice round the computer singing "Singing in the rain" in falsetto... sorry just joking)-
- not being able to use the LCD jukebox for Internet radio (I donīt know if that is caused by the Satio but itīs very irritating)
- not being able to sync earlier phonebooks
- not being able to have the radio function properly
- not being able to take snap-shots, because it takes too long time to have the camera ready for shoot - the baby smile is gone!
- most of all itīs very, very slow, and if you try to increase speed or if youīre in a hurry, the phone freezes & the restart takes a very long time (at least thatīs the feeling if youīre in a hurry)
etc - you can read my earlier statements about the phone here on the forum.
The worst thing is that itīs not possible to return the phone & get another one after these 5 weeks. Instead I have to leave it in the store, they send it for repair etc.
I think itīs below decency to hit the market with a phone that is so full of problems.
This morning at work I comparted the Satio with an iPhone - the interface of the iPhone is just brilliant. The sharp display etc etc.
So - donīt buy it (Iīll give you a VERY good price on mine though...)

AND YOU THINK AND IPHONE WILL BE AN IMPROVEMENT ?????
Most of the stuff you mention are more likely to do with your mac and itunes which are themselves very buggy, I would say keep the satio and get rid of the mac and itunes and your life will improve dramatically.
PS how long will it take you to get a digital camera to take a photo from turn on - a lot longer than the satio which is already on, and an iphone ? well maybe you will report back here and let everyone know how happy you are with it
PS PS make sure you done knock the iphone in your pocket or drop it, the screen is made of a very breakable material lol - do a search on google for iphone screen repair |

NO: After using the N900, I can say that NO, EMPHATICALLY!!! Here's a repost of what I said in the "other manufacterers" forum. Note: I spent over $900 on this POS (relative to the price it cost when it first came out, as compared to almost HALF the price that the Nokia N900 debuted at), and yes, its just a mediocre 12mpx (as compared to Digicams go) with a really crappy OS attached to it. All I can say is that if the X10 isn't better than the N900, SE may as well declare bankruptcy.
Two words: What Satio? This thing ABSOLUTELY DESTROYS that supposed multimedia powerhouse of Sony's. Not that I have any issues with the phone app being the only thing that works in portrait mode, but once they update the firmware to provide both orientations, this thing should really take off. No complaints right now whatsoever, and that's really saying something, considering I was an SE fanboy for the longest time (got the T68m, T68i, P800, P900, P910, P990, X1 and Satio the week they were all released)..

When was the last time you made a call from your camera ???
Why can't you accept that some people like things that you obviously do not ?
I reject your reality and substitute my own. |
