Can anyone help me pls.
I installed NDrive and it did not load the map.
I tried installing OviMaps and it loaded the maps. However, since then it is not able to detect GPS signal.
When I go to Location > GPS data > Position... it says Waiting for GPS even if I am standing outside.
Any idea what may have gone wrong or what I need to do now.
FYI, I have kept NDrive and OviMaps both on the phone. Can it be a problem ?
Any help is appreciated. |

there where reports of people having problems after the firmware update, the fix was to do a factory reset and reinstall the update via seus, this corrected the problem, I understand that the update method using seus changed grom the early release in that it didn't reset the phone - now it does, perhaps this is the reason |

@panties:
it's E:citiesdiskcachevoices
ofcourse E: is the microSDHC
@dipb:
one of main problems in Satio is the long waiting time for GPS signal and sat' locking, in perfect conditions it take only 1 - 3 minute's but sometimes it take longer may even go for 10 - 20 mintues and sometimes I reach my distination ( after several wrong turns or stuck with traffic ) and there no sat' lock !!
some times I find that Garmin XT is a little bit faster with locking, and BTW if you already locked in any app. then ending it and going to another one will guarntee fast locking again ( only seconds ),,, I tried that several times with built-in GPS apps, Garmin XT and Nokia Maps, never tried Sygic/NDrive thought... Both I won't test as they don't have any map for my country ( Sygic don't even have my region !! ) I heard about Road 66 but it still not supported for S60 5th edition...
EDIT : gharknes1 posted a reply while I was writing...
@gharknes1:
I don't have any problems with GPS ( except the long waiting time ) but I have with Picasa Web Album as with all those who updated thier phone...

Probably you were right Xajel. I tried again this afternoon and found that GPS Data and OviMaps can detect the satellites. As you said it took around 2-4 mins to lock in on 5 satellites. Thats good and I need not restore to factory settings as that is a real pain since earases all settings and apps.
For NDrive, I still could not load the maps. The maps are "incompatible" for my phone .. that is what status says though a check reveals that the maps are ok. Just won't load.
So may be I have to try and download from some other source and try my luck.
Thanks to both Gharknes1 and Xajel for your inputs. |
