Oh have you seen one then? We should start a thread of unusual photos or ones like mine by accident. Or a UFO photo thread or a strange coloured photo thread  oh think i will stop now lol.........

 Its just happened again  I was in my garden taking a random photo of the sun after the rain & it came out purple again. It seems to do it at a certain angle at the sun though there seems to be more noise in this one. Very strange. I dont have no filters not faked and its just auto against the sun. Its like midnight sun the second one

I guess the camera software gets confused to the color of the scene, then accidentally sets wrong color balance or something related to color.
Its kinda cool, though.

I have seen similar problems with regular digicams. When shooting in low light with a Xenon flash with a too fast shutter then the pictures will have a very strong blue/purple tint.
