Internet speed in where I live and where I work is limited to a snail-like level. Heck, my office PC has a max download speed of 6KB/s. I can upload photos with my BB faster than on my PC
Dude that is painful! I used BBS during dialup/internet dawn with those speeds!! Man ... you need to get an unlimited data package with your provider and use the phone as a high-speed modem.

Hello!
Anyone know of any method of removing or replacing the Front left Facebook shortcut with another app?
Don't use online services so don't care about Facebook shortcut!
Thank you!

It's not really the providers' fault, but in my office the IT guys set a bandwidth limit so employees can't take advantage of the 'free' internet; while at my apartment the only possible method of connecting is with a wireless broadband modem, which as you know has very low signal strength amidst high rise buildings. I gotta leave that hellhole! |

Indeed it does. Its the one I send to.
I don't have a unique address. I think it works by linking the device ID to your account.
There must be more than one set up method.

@Sir-Sonyericsson-Man
Then it means that you have to manually set it up to send to mobile@facebook.com |

I don't know what U are talking about. What shortcut to FB? I don't have one on my non-branded W995! Do U have a branded one? Maybe U have to unlock the phone in that case... Ask your operator maybe...

Cheers,
If you look at W995's front, upper left side key above "call" key, the key is 'linked' to "Facebook", next to the "Menu".
It's the same key (or button) to press to "Unlock".
Many people actually don't use or care about 'Facebook' so wondering if the function could be removed or replaced??
Btw... it's an "unbranded" authentic W995, meant for the Asian phone market. The W995 is very popular in many parts of Asia!
Thank you!

On that button I have a shortcut to Media. In the menues I can choose to have Ticker for Web feed instead on that button. My W995 is non-branded European version. Try to set up a web feed in the media menue and under options/settings use "standby ticker". Does your button change then?

Tried many things but nothing works.
The only shortcuts to change is for the Navigation button.
Guess I'm stuck having the Facebook key!
BTW... my W995 menu has on front screen:
1. " Facebook" on lower left side (above the Call button)
2. "Menu" on lower middle (above the Navigation/ Play/Pause button)
3. "Media" on lower right side (above the Stop Call button)
I suppose there's a slight change in Shortcuts/Menu with Asian version vs European version ??? Who knows??
Thanks for the assistance!
