I installed version 0.9 (TeaShark-419.jar) which I downloaded from their web site a couple of minutes ago with no problems whatsoever. It seems to work without any problems on my K800i. You probably have a corrupt jar file. Try downloading a new copy from their web page.
However, unless you have a flatrate internet subscription, I don't think it's a very good thing to download and browse 'real' web pages instead of mobile phone adapted pages. With the current ratings I have on my subscription, downloading the front page of one of our swedish evening papers would cost about twice as much as buying the complete paper copy, since the page is filled with ads and stuff. The wap version is much smaller. The only realistic alternative is Opera Mini, IMHO, since you don't actually download the page to your phone. |

@chandu
Yeah, on my airtel postpaid connection, nop service is on. Rs 99 per month. Unlimited browsing and downloading only on mobile. No pc connectivity. Do you know, i am using approx 500 mb of data per month. Right now i am replying post from my mobile using teashark.

Thats strange chandu. Just downloaded myself from their page and installed without problems. It seems a bit slow IMO and doesn't seem to like storing cookies making logging in anywhere difficult.

It willnot work, chandu. I think airtel andrapradesh is working on closing free browsing loop hole. Previously in gujarat, we were surfing for free using teashark. But they had fixed the hole and now it is chargeable. While they were fixing my friends and i have problem accessing teashark.
Can your friend able to run it being on airtel ? Have you try to use another provider sim and try to run it? Do this little experiment and report?

Right, it's slow because it has to download the same amount of data as, for example, Internet Explorer would have to download on a computer. The difference is, that the computer's internet bandwidth probably is much larger than the bandwidth available on the 3G phone, and thus, the download time is larger. This is the main reason for designing special 'wap' pages or pages for mobile use, with less contents in order to reduce bandwidth. OperaMini's approach is different. The page is downloaded to Opera's server, where it is processed, and a compressed and stripped version is passed to the phone.
btw, I tried to visit www.sonyericsson.com with teashark, and it was not very successful, since much of the contents is based upon Macromedia Flash and similar. |

No it willnot work on nop as well. May be you can try. But before trying, try to install it on your phone with other service provider like vodafone, idea etc.
May airtel is working on teashark server to close the loop. May be ucweb is not in their list.
