You keep ignoring the one feature starhannes asked for which is a problem with almost all SE models: good video recording...

Yes AbuBasim, i have limited everything down to the Nokia N82 after 4 hours of research
N82 vs C905. I am only considering the c905 because i (L) SE.
Am i correct in having a hard time between the two?
What is the software like, is the N82 software better? seems like it from what i read...
And N82 has better video recording! |

Whilst the SE can't match the video taking ability's, it DOES consitently win reviews on mobile phone camera's.
Make sure what you get has a Xenon flash, not crappy LED. It's fine for most people but if you actually care about your photo's then the difference a Xenon makes is massive, don't let ANYONE fool you into thinking a Nokia with dual LED is as good because they are not, do you ever see a compact camera using LED flash from Canon, Panasonic, Sony etc?
So I would choose the C905 or the Nokia N82 or any other Nokia with a Xenon flash.
If you look at the new LG Viewty and the Samsung Pixon they have LED flashes which is stupid considering their marketed as Camera phones. |

I was in the same situation as u, my previous phone was a k800...
I decided to go for LG Renoir, mostly because of touch, virtual qwerty key board, camera, video recorder and xvid playback (fuctions that r better than C905).
I know its flash isn't as strong as C905, but at short distances (about 2.5 meters) it does a really good job. And thats what I needed... |

good or better video recording on cellphones ???? (hope you kidding abu)
even LG renoir (who should have the "best" video quality out there) looks CRAP on TV
so if i was you starhannes, i should forget about video quality.
ps...let me give you some example
C902...30fps, qvga____(good sound),records in stereo but just ok quality, similar as N82)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lu-hQHsbADs
N82...30 fps, vga...(wait a minute, i think i must throw up)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRRskuE_UvM
Renoir....30 fps, vga, (better then N82 but still crap if you watch it in larger Res)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRMiXYqhiPs&feature=related
so why in hell even bother to have video on cellphones....it suxs anyway.

thanks alot plankgatan that was extremely helpful to link those videos!
1. C902 - 1/5
2. N82 - 3/5
3. LG Renoir - 4/5
this is my rating, of course i dont expect videos from camera to be good. i seldomly take videos, but i have begun to realize that maybe pictures are not enough to record my life. And i dont want a video camera no
Ok i think i've made my mind - renoir! |

Yes, that's true. But it sure doesn't help if the phone only records in QVGA. You mean that since video recording doesn't look good on TV then can just as well go for the worst option?
@starhannes,
If you want to see the true quality of video recording on any of those phones then YT is not the place to look at samples! YT will degrade the quality so everything looks like shot with a C902!

@starhannes...he he..you are blind my friend...3 of 5 on that N82 video ?????
even this C902 video is better.... (compare colours, details, blurness, etc)....
Nokias vga res is just some upwrited BS !
Renoir is better, i agree.... but N82 vga quality suxs so much, in good sunshine i get better video quality on my C902 qvga. (can inform you that i had both N82 and c902 )

GSMarena has better samples:
C902
N82
Now say which phone records better video... The N82 sample sure makes the C902 video look like an animated thumbnail...

Yes it matters. VGA is four times larger than QVGA. I'm sure people can see the difference when looking at more true samples than those you linked from YT (which makes everything look the same).
If the N82 sample is not VGA quality then the C902 is even less VGA quality, don't you agree?
BTW, what is VGA quality? VGA is a size not a bitrate!

look again...(i can show hundreds with N82 samples, they all looks similar. so its not just this video who have this quality)
N82....vga...sunny day

c902....qvga...sunny day

Can you post samples from any other site than YouTube? Original samples? How about the samples I posted from GSMarena on the first page of this thread?
What you're saying that the QVGA from C902 is better than the VGA from N82? You will need more than you're unconditional praise for the C902 to back that up. Show real samples!
