I do prefer value added features for my money, & sexy design. I trust & thankful for SE, the leader in futuristic technology.

I own the T68, not just for the color screen. It's actually the features that are my main reason for having a T68. The only phone I can really think of changing the T68 for is a S55, but why do that. I just love the SonyEricsson phone software, it's so flexible and easy to use. Just look at stuff like PCControl, do you see any other phone brands handling that... No and why is that... beacause no other phones have that kind of flexability.
The SonyEricsson phone software is just great, and packed with hidden small nice features that just makes using the phone sooo much better.
BTW... I will never buy a new phone that doesn't have bluetooth and a built in email-client. Hmm.. which manufacturers have phones with these features... SonyEricsson and Siemens. No one else. (Nokia 7650 doesn't have a proper bluetooth implementation).
But I'm considering buying a P800 when I can afford it |

As far as I see it. Although I am not comparing these two phones as they are meant for different things. If you can do without tri-band the 7650 has more features than the t68i. But it is not for everyone(size, butt ugliness)
A business man usually carries around a pda. the t68i paired with a pda is far better than a 7650 paired with a pda.
The 7650 is not a pda.
A person looking for a fun phone(who can forgive it's looks and size) will be best of with a 7650(built in camera, downloadable games)
A person looking for a phone that's small lightweight and fairly feature rich(and EXTREMELY good looking) will be best of with a t68i.
A person looking to send alot of mms will always be better off with a t68i. As the mms on nokias licks balls.
My point is that they are not meant to compete with eachother. |

I dont miss the good old days just for the sake that the t68 was just the first and only high tech phone(colored and features) around the block then.
Yes,having a colord screen is a novelty but it is quite fading fast with the mass advent of nokia colored models. In the end,it is still the features that count.
Email, bluetooth, themes:all standard in an SE product.
Nokia has its own features yet the fun and novelty factors is only good for a very short time due to new? models evry 3 months.

I do miss the T68/i, i miss the fact that every few weeks a new feature would become apparent, i never owned a phone that impressed me for so long, as i got it in oct 2001 it was WAY ahead (even without MMS before my i upgrade) of everything, although a "sort of" colour phone had been released a while before by Siemens. The t68/i looked good, felt good, was good.
But we move on & i`m now enjoying my P8 ,as mentioned earlier, P8 needs grip, a set of replacement covers that replace the "blue parts" in that nice rubbery black finish (T68m battery) would be great,
I have noticed though the T68i is becoming very popular with people replacing 3*** & 8310 Nokias because the 7210 is too cheap looking.
And people have woken up to bluetooth.
I sadly think that it will in fact be impossible for SE to come up with a t68 replacement that meets expectation. |

The thing bad is that many phone buyers care only the colour, not the most advance techology built in.

What is bad in seeing the phone just as a nice a assesoar among others, such as with watches, jewelries and bags instead of worshipping the phone as a god?

I have nothing against phones looking good. This is why I chose Ericsson. It had great looks and great features at a reasonable price. Nokia just has great looks, nothing more. SE... well... their design is...uhm... an aquired taste. :s
I was never fond of the SE designs... looks very... unrefined. Too "Robotech" looking. There's nothing wrong with it... but it just looks like it's showing off its technology too much. I liked Ericsson's designs cuz they were very subtle, and sleek.
I just hope SE starts hiring better designers... hopefully the old gang from Ericsson! |
