The W760 is another good choice, i've never had any problems with mine other than the stereo speakers being a bit quite but that was easily fixed.

I wouldn't do that if I were you.. seriously I've tried the Viewty and it would be a downgrade (SE to LG viewty).
-Touchscreen responds slow or not very good when multitasking
-Slow interface at times
-Ugly design |

other way around, pal. when you factor in the many many disadvantages of most SEs, the viewty is considerably in the positive in comparison |

Actually the W760 speakers in general are quite quiet unless you fix them. Byfix i mean play around with stuff your not supposed to. Otherwise great phone no excellent i had it for about 6 months before it broke and well it was love. |

Yes, well I understand what your saying, but I'm not saying he should stick with SE, get a Nokia or even a Samsung.
And, the C905 is way ahead! |

I'm thinking of leaving SE for a Palm device. I fall in love when I first saw the Palm pre. |

Only the iPhone 3G is worth leaving for IMO and then only as a temporary diversion. If the iPhone is not your thing (and it's not for many people here) then check out the G705/W705/W715 range, perhaps the C702, C902, T700 or W980, or something older and well proven like the W760, W890 or W960/P1i. Or you could save some money and go down range (but not in quality) with the K630, K660 and G502.
I don't know UK prices, but in my experience of getting phones from insurance claims that I wouldn't choose myself, quality is universal and even the cheaper phones are enjoyable to use.

I have had 2 W595's now, I don't think their reliable, and there's nothing else to choose,
Simple, change manufacturer

Well, it's your choice but you should give SE another try.
There are many others good phones like C902, W902, T700, G705 and thew ones C901 C903, W705, W995 etc.

These are good phones indeed, but lukechris is 13 years old, they might be too expensive for him, you know, how these kids are, they want a new phone at least every six months .

F305? Dam,you lot would make for mean parents, for a 13yearold? Id say the W705 is about right, if not a SE, and not a Nokia then id say look at the Samsung i450, or i560, both realy good music smartphones that are very well priced, also the Motorola ROKR E8 is REALY nice.

If you wanted to leave...just leave. It's not like you're married to SE. Never complicate things, as simple as that. |

For a 13 y/o it's easy, R300. It will do the job and costs nothing at all. Maybe a T303 when on good behaviour. I don't see the point in needing such an expensive phone when you're 13. I find it funny to see some kids walking around with WM or Symbian business devices not using 80% of the phone. When I was 13 I was kissing girls and cycling around the country. Who needs mobile phones
I'm quite happy with my C702. It ticks all the boxes I want:
- Decent camera *with* auto focus - something a lot of W phones lack.
- Decent battery life, a few days with mild use of music playback and GPS.
- LED Flash + torch (this is a must for me).
- Nice media player, the media centre surely does the job well.
- GPS.
- Rugged/good build quality.
- M2 or microSD supporting atleast 8GB.
Other things like flash menu's are a nice extra. And the prices are not to bad. For around a 100 pound you can find a 2nd hand one thats only left the box for some pictures
The only phones that tick all boxes for me now are:
Idou, W995, Xperia, C903, C905 and the C701. And since I don't want a slider that can get issues (like the C90x slider) and a phone thats availible today there was not much to choose from
The only thing I don't like much about the C702 is the keypad but I'm getting more used to it after a few weeks use, it could be better. The best keypad I've seen on a SE phone was on the Z610i.
Just my 2 pence.
