I experienced the same thing... I planning to upgrade my firmware which might eliminate that thing. I'm hoping.

I have my T68 since the beginning of November and it did exactly like that four times, the last one this morning...! It's pretty strange, because the phone behavior is always the same : I take the phone out of my jeans pocket... look at the screensaver, the time is correct, and as soon as I press "c" to turn off the keylock, the phone is asking for the PIN code...??
The problem happens twice with R1B, once with R1C, and right now with R2A...!!! BTW, GPRS isn't in use...?!?
If someone got a clue...???

Hey Rolud,

I called today service center and they told me among other things, that it may be a fault of the sim. I got a new sim and I am waiting to see what will happen. If things go well, I will tell you. Otherwise I will visit service fore repair/replacement.

Have had the same shutdown/reboot problem since October on my first T68. After letting a service point play with it four-five times, I have given up. Bought a new T68 two weeks ago, same problem with this one. I won't be near a service point for months now, so I'm thankful for having two sims with same number, at least for backup. Look at the bright side the T68's don't shutdown at the same time.

What do you mean given up? You have always a warranty and they should replace the phone imediately if they weren't able to fix it! The purchase of another new T68 is not a solution. To take it further, the phone is very expensive. Why wasting so much money for nothing?

I have had the same problem (T68 restarting by itself and asking for the PIN again). The strange thing is, it has only happened over the last week (4 times). Can anybody say if they have had this problem fixed by upgrading the firmware? I am still on R1B.

Thanks very much

To Terry:
Upgrading the firmware from R1b is necessary for many reasons. I don't know for sure if your problem is solved, but I recommend to you to do it.

To continue with the problem, I have already changed the sim card. My T68 works fine so far without any shuts down until now. I will recharge it tonight and watch it close to be 100% sure that it was sim card fault. I hope ( for me and others like me) the sim card replacement will solve the problem. I will check it and reply, as soon as I have more adequate results.

ORKA > I never experienced this, not in any of the software-versions. I dont use the PIN-lock by the way.

I know that some users here in Denmark have problems with sim-cards,..usually locking/shutting off the phone,..or coming up with the message : "no gprs" or "only emergency-numbers available".

My guess is, that its either a sim-card problem or something to do with the pin-lock use.

I dont know this for sure of course, hope you get it sorted out.

Hey Jan, How are you?

The only thing that I have to do is to wait and see if the problem persists after the sim card change... I will post my conclusions afterwards...

Thanc for your concern

Orka,

Thanks very much for your reply.

My problem with upgrading is lack of service centres (see post 'Service centre in Yorkshire').

Cheers

Terry
