However, C903 doesn't have WiFi and that's bad.

thats because it is aimed as a cheaper phone, if it had wifi it would be very very similar to c905, have a range of phones that have a range of features then surely one will suit everybody |

So why its number is C903. I should be C705.

I've yet to see a phone that was above criticism, no phone is perfect.

Yes, no phone is perfect. If it was, how could it be improved upon.
I do think SE make unsound decisions with regards to phone specs, especially in more recent times.
For me, video calling was never crucial and I've only used it a few times. I can see the point though that for the people who do like using it, SE phones don't make it a nice user experience for them.
Video calling should be handled one of two ways. The Apple way, which basically means not including it in a 3G handset (I know others have done this but I use Apple as the example as its the highest profile phone to do this). The other way to do it is to include it and put a front-facing camera on the phone.
Any manufacturer who includes a video call function but not a front-facing camera obviously just tacked video calling on so it could be included in the specs. It makes absolutely no sense in terms of user experience!

se just doesn't do it for me anymore for reasons like this.
QFT. The OP forgot that exclude Wifi from all their phones, dont have full VGA video recording, and they still only have 2.4 inch screens as the max on most handsets, ignoring the X1 experia because it only has 3.2 Mpix camera.
So many manufacturers make better quality handset then do.

Are you sure they excluded wifi from all their phones? |

I don' think so - the models and more have WiFi - C905, G900, P1, W960, X1, G705, W705 and more. So many phones have WiFi.

It's true that other manufacturers make higher quality handsets than , notably Samsung. I would think that should slash its unit prices by 20-30% if they want to keep being competitive.

I agree with this. Higher quality or lower price.

Of course there is not a perfect phone. I just want to emphasise: there is always something SE ruins with nice phone.
I also don't need videocall often, but sometimes I like to use it. I repeat myself one more time: so I really can't understand, why the hell SE removed frontal video call camera on the higher level model C901 (and put that feature on lower level C510).
And it's not only about video calls, please read my first post again.
PS: Now SE introduced network polyglot phone W995 with a frontal camera. Really good! But the problem is for me: I don't like slider phone. Sure it's my problem, but why SE sipmly removes frontal camera in some 3G phones? I really don't understand that.
And more, there is now 2 version od W995:
GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 UMTS/HSPA 900/2100
GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 UMTS/HSPA 850/1900/2100
Why to make two version, if the difference is only one UMTS frequency!? It does not make any harm to offer only one version including all networks systems and frequencies..

Guess we really wouldnt know the "whys" until we ask SE, definitely they have the reasons on why they came up with these desicions and not the way some of us wanted their products to be. For now we all have to setlle on what they currently offers and from there prioritize the features that we really need.

Recently SE introduced a relly great mobile phone C510.....
But then SE decided to ruin that good news also. SE decided that only American market can enjoy that kind of phone. The other world will get a cut version (without UMTS 850/1900 and even without GSM 850!).
From where did you get this info? |
