Go for it! I unlocked my phone this week - no problems. I got a T28 data cable and a log from UnLocKing.net It took 10 minutes.
I called AT&T tech support and they were the ones that suggested it.

Kevinp,
How much did unlocking charge you per log? I got them at $8/log from those guys - the best price I've seen anywhere! Of course I did have to call them three times to get things working, but once they got my account setup things were very smooth. |

I only purchased one log @ $10US.
One is all I needed
Like I said - it's easy!

All u need to do is call them and request an unlock code... but the phone must have been bought at their store. In 5 days time I received an e-mail with the code and instructions. I've also unlocked my old VStream T28. Called, requested the code and then called again in a few days, code was ready
Those guys are good... i wish they had better coverage though, but i'm not leaving Vstream any time soon. I've been with ATT and Verizon before, but Vstream is one good company, very customer oriented and always willing to help. |

T-Mobile was able to unlock my Cingular T68i for free. I just emailed the IMEI# and my account information to SIMUnlock@T-Mobile.com. I did not mention it's a Cingular phone and T-Mobile did not ask.
In most cases, if you have a T-Mobile phone, they usually can get you the unlock code within a few days. With my Cingular phone, T-Mobile emailed to me saying that they needed to forward my request to manufacturer (I assume it's Sony Ericsson and not Cingular) to request unlock code and it was going to take 5 - 10 days. I recieved an email from them within 15 days with the correct unlock code. Now I'm using a Cingular phone on T-Mobile network. |

When you say "account information" do you mean just your phone #? Please be specific!

Account information = Your Mobile Number + Account Number if you wish. Hope this is specific enough for you. |
