Yes, yes, I said I'm aware it isn't a coupé, however, the styling is heavily based around that look, so I don't see any harm in calling it a coupé..
I know many people are taken in by what the manufacturers say, but I'm not one of them. Ultimately, it's a saloon - but because it's so coupé-esque, I called it a coupé.

Gforce
The new M3 smoked the RS4 and after my dream M3 gets touched by AC Schnitzer it will eat that RS5 for breakfast, lunch and supper . Then il drive home in my M6
How many kw is the RS5 gona have? 309kw?
What id LOVE to see is the new Mini Cooper-S JCW take on the Golf 6 GTi it will shut the mouths of many GTI fanboys.

M3s are a dime a dozen compared to the RS4. Combine that with that fact that most ///M3 dudes think they are Schumacher with those horrible paddle shifters and the slightly poor resale value (E46 M3s are going in the low 20s in the U.S. while a new one costs 70K), you can see why the RS4 more than holds its own against the Bimmer.
Anyhow, the RS5 will have 450bhp or 335kw, if the numbers are right.

You just brought back the memories. Here's the last snap that I took of my beloved '07 R56 CooperS that was modded with the JCW kit before selling it to the same dealership that I had originally purchased from:

'twas a real mountain screamer!

We'll see how it all pans out for RS5 against M3. Price and depreciation a side the M3 destroyed the RS4.
WOW! You had a beautiful CooperS there, i just love Minis got to have a go in my close friends new CooperS, I was blown away by its handling,ye they are screamers, lol what gets me is the sound the exhaust makes after revving it, sounds like a rally car. Why did you sell it?

I agree that even though Mecedes call the CLS a Coupe it is actually more of a fastback.
There is no set in stone definition of a coupe as the goal posts have been moved hundreds of times but I cant see how a full size 4 door car can be called a coupe.

Pure performance? Maybe, but I'd take the RS4 over the M3 sedan every single day. Now of course, I'd be crazy not to grab a AC-Schnitzer modded ///M3 coupe.

It was an opportune moment to sell the CooperS. I was offered close to 88% of my total investment (purchase price+mods) after driving the car for 11-odd months, which seemed like a very good deal. People in their 20s as well as some older women are quite literally snapping these MINIs up by the dozen. It's no coincidence that the MINI is the least depreciating brand in the U.S. Plus, I was itching to buy these:

The Miata provides the most bang for your buck, bar none. I was dissed off by my friends for driving a hairdresser's car but the same guys were begging me to let them drive after I took them on a mountain run. The 335 might appear stock but was Vishnu tuned and could easily smack the older M3s as well as timid drivers of the new one into oblivion.

@jcwhite: Couldn't have said it better.

Ye the MINIs seem to be doing extremely well here in South Africa as well. I cant go 5km out the house without seeing one but the best part is that most are unique with very different colour combos, ive NEVER seen a Mini with the colour combo and stripes you had on yours, but ye you had a good reason to sell it, if it were me i would've kept it and carried on modding it put on the CHECKMATE stripes and checkerd flag.
335i is a beauty and in your case a wolf in sheeps clothing, and thats good, rather have a car that looks standard but performs extremely well than a car that looks faster than it actualy is
Not a big fan of miatas, what are they anyway, Mazdas?? Anyway as long as you're happy with your current toys thats what counts, id be more than happy with a 335i no doubt, yes im a big Beemer fan boy if you havent noticed still have to get my 1st car though

Hmm.. I thought the color on my MINI was quite popular- Lightning Blue with black mirror covers, roof & racing stripes. Checkmates would look nice but as you have figured by now, I'm a fan of performance rather than looks.

Nice comment about the sheep in wolf's clothing. I'm tired to seeing crappy Mitsubishis and Toyotas Corollas with those gigantic wings on the back that try to race you between stoplights.
The Miata is the best selling convertible/roadster in the world mate. And yea, it's a Mazda but a damn good one. The short throws and knife-through-butter action of the gearbox is worlds better than on the 335. Btw, check out my friend's E36 ///M3:

'tis an absolute monster with almost every conceivable mod in it.

Not trying to be a smart *** over here, but a Mini refers to the classics. The BMW manufactured models are called MINIs.
But yeah, what you said is true.
