Specwise I would go for X1, but prizewise I would choose 5800.
You can actually buy 2 5800 for the prize of one X1!

I have to agree with @ares. The P990 experience left me with such a sour taste in my mouth that I vowed never to buy another SE product again. Ofcourse if the SE X1 turns about to be the sh*t, I am a rather forgiving customer...
I'd go for the 5800 personally - I have been on the Nokia site and it looks like a winner!

i'd go for the 5800.
the price really is a big deal for me, plus the s60 interface will probably be much smoother than the wm6.1 as it is a proven simple platform.
however, it seems a high-end 5800 aka N-series will likely be launched soon to counter the X1, the 5800 is really for the music/ walkman crowd.

@ares
U r right bro...but dont forget HTC made X1 for SE for sure and Xda-developers dont leave us alone ....they work very well....

I see an average votes for X1 or 5800..dont forget UI on S60 is far better from WM...in fact Xperia panels r eyecandy but this is on surface and when we go deeper only see the WM classic menu with f*cking style....

I am currently a PDA only WM user. WM has great apps support but if you are really not into WM, you might not like the PDA phone UI of the X1. Last I've heard is that you cannot select multiple recepients when sending sms by selecting with check boxes besides names that is common with A100 SE phones on WM devices. I suggest that you try it first on how it works in the store and don't just buy it because it's SE.
Personally, I will choose the X1 over the 5800. But there are other worthy HTC and Samsung WM devices out there. |

I would go for X1 if I was being offered either for free, but would rather buy the 5800 because it's a lot better value for money

Specs wise you would go for the X1 without a shot,
Price wise you would go for the Nokia
I'm not sure i have played with the x1 its cool but only for ten mins, i haven't used a Nokia in years, the WM bit puts me of buying one tbh. I would of chose the X1 if it came out 6 months ago but it doesn't seem to have anything extra that most phones have nowadays. All companies announce them to early or leak info to early and leave us waiting.
So neither

Id get the 5800XM or wait for Nseries Touch. There are loads of apps for S60 as well, and i just love the UI AND the fact that it looks like a true Multimedia phone, and the location of the loudspeakers is just perfect for listening to music when in both landscape and portrait.
