I have sent an email to O2 concerning this cos its getting worse now. I cannot even send a text on 3G now its that bad. Lets hope I hear something back. I went onto Site Finder site & clicked on the 3G mast & it asked if I wished to send an email to the operator regarding this mast. OH YES I DO. Also Site Finder is not really upto date there are more masts where I live & hardly any show up on the site. Oh well wait & see. ANOTHER UPDATE. Just had an email back from Sitefinder not O2. And they said PLEASE RING CUSTOMER SERVICE BACK AT O2 AND THEY WILL GET YOU UP AND RUNNING AGAIN. Yeah i bet. Not. I give with this. I checked Vodafone and apparently a 3G mast has gone up where i live. Will buy a cheap sim and test it out. Or does anyone know of where i can get a free Voda sim as i know O2 are always doing it with free sims.

Cheers will do that then. I am a little wary about Asda due to Tesco not doing 3G so Asda might not either. I will go get Voda sim to test. The guy in Voda store said my area is now surrounded by 3G coverage but i dont always trust what sites say about coverage. Last time i tested Voda 3G where i live i only got 2 bars of signal in back room of my house.

Tried an Asda SIM today - 3G works really well. Feels faster than my O2 connection and all the apps I tried worked, but then I ran out of credit on youtube

I never thought they had 3G like Tesco so thats good then. But i also guess there is no data package. My O2 3G is still not working. If i go to make a call on 3G if i dont get engaged tone it takes ages to connect. I have had enough now i have stuck to using GSM and trying to forget about it for now. I got other things to worry about. Customer service are useless and unhelpful.

A last update on this. I called customer services again today as its still not working. Anyway the lady i spoke with was very helpful. She took down every bit of detail about my problems. Few hours later some bloke calls me back asking me more. He wanted to do a test. I was at work so it was not possible. He then started saying the usual rubbish like have you switched your phone off taken out battery. Have you cleared your cache have you this have you that. YES YES. I told him there is nothing wrong with my phone or settings its fine everywhere but my area. He then went on to say that my area has 7 masts. Wow. And it still does not work but half mile from my area its fine. COME ON. He said that if i cant do test call with him or try my sim in another phone(which i have)then they cant log the problem on the network. Fine i said im obviously wasting my time here. Why cant they just send an engineer out to test it i have complained enough its hardly something im making up. Its obviously a fault or capacity problem COS ITS FINE ELSEWHERE. Why cant they see that. Oh my god. Finally i have given up i have had it now with this bloody mast think i will go knock it down or build my own one. LOL. Think i will write very long email complaint to Head Office if it exists. Dont think i will get far though but worth a try. Happy surfing guys and girls on the ever improving O2 3G network. Im jumping ship.

Because every mobile phone provider can, at any point whenever they want, check which phone your using with which sim card at any given time.

For example, if you were to give me an O2 number I could bring up a list of the last 5 phones that sim was in and what the IMEI number of each was.

So thats how

Well when i spoke with O2 today the customer service assistant said they could tell when i tried my sim in another phone when i was testing the connection. So there you go.

Exactly right.

Bottom line is, there's no point attempting to cheat the system, so just don't bother
